Something that I have used my Varoma for is to gently steam meat prior to grilling. It may sound like a waste of time and effort, but for some meats like quail I really believe it is handy. If you are cooking a vegie dish in the bowl, then it is perfect to steam the meat in the Varoma at the same time.

A lot of the BBQ folks have been talking about warming up steaks by sealing them in a plastic bag and soaking them in hot water before grilling them. I believe they then use hotter temps to get that external char quickly, without needing to wait so long to raise the internal temp....
