So I finally cleaned my oven after a couple of years being unsuccessful with detergent, bicarb, jif etc. Uni tried out the method first, and I promptly bought the cloudy ammonia. But it wasn't till yesterday that I got my act together and slipped on my kitchen gloves.

Took me one and half hour, and even then I couldn't get everything off. But still I'm happy 😄😃
Here's the link for the method http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2013/12/how-to-easily-clean-your-oven.html

That is a job well done. You must be very chuffed with it :)
-
What a great advert for that method. I'm not showing my oven, it is like your before photo.
-
I am inspired BzB. I would be chuffed with that result.

great job bzb I love cleaning my oven so do it fortnightly :-[

Lovely BZB. Seems a shame to cook in it and make it grimy again.

Mine too. Fortunately the manufacturer of my oven had the foresight to make the interior black, and if the glass door is any indication, just as well ;D

I know what you mean. Caught myself having second thoughts about using the oven to make pizzas just now. Hahaha 😁

Suzanne, you can come over to clean mine when you're done with yours. Once every few months will do. We will have 2 happy bunnies that way 😝😆

Baking Trudy's banana cake in a springform pan....with another pan under it to catch drips. 😄

Great oven cleaning BZB 8) Come and do mine ;)

ammonia is a wonderful thing ;D

Uni, what else do you use ammonia for?
-
Bought the ammonia this morning and cant wait to have a clean oven like that. A few years ago my daughter gave me a clean oven for mothers day; a man turned up in his little van and did all the work.

All my friends use a oven cleaning agency Troupie. :D :D

Uni, what else do you use ammonia for?
floors, bathroom tiles, mirrors, glass, stove, someone that i know cleans their crystal glass ware

Cloudy ammonia is awesome for cleaning jewelry, brings up rings super shiny and new looking :)
I just get an old water bottle lid, put my rings in it and leave for a few hours, then very gently scrub with an old soft rag or toothbrush, gets in all the crooks and nannies.....nooks and crannies :-))

I think JD posted her window cleaners recipe: bucket of water, 'splosh' cloudy ammonia, and a bit of dishwashing detergent. Comes up a treat.

Mixed with water, Uni?

Yes always use it diluted BZB. Here's a warning about using ammonia
Never mix ammonia with bleach or any product containing chlorine. The combination produces toxic fumes that can be deadly. Work in a well-ventilated space and avoid inhaling the vapours. Wear rubber gloves and avoid getting ammonia on your skin or in your eyes. Always store ammonia out of the reach of children.

Thanks Judy for the safety instructions
