Sally's Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
« on: April 04, 2013, 02:44:13 am »
Sally's Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
Makes 30-35
Ingredients
½ cup peanut butter
small ripe banana
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup milk (nut milk is fine)
3 cups quick cooking oats
1/8 teaspoon salt
Preparation
If you need to; blitz normal oats on turbo 2-4 times to make quick cooking oats.
Line a tray with paper or use tiny muffin pans as I did.
Put banana into bowl and blend speed 3 until mashed.
Add peanut butter, 500, speed 3, until light goes off. This will still look firmish.
Add maple syrup, cocoa, milk, oats and salt. Use  :: to blend together. You may need the spatula.
If you wish to add chocolate chips, nuts, cranberries or anything else, add and use  :-: reverse to mix.  I added cranberries and peanuts.
Roll into balls and place in prepared pans. These need to be refrigerated. They may be frozen.
Further information
This recipe is taken from Sally's Baking Addiction. I have changed it to be used with the thermomix. I also used maple syrup.

Hi Cookie, thanks for a great recipe. I adapted it to what I had on hand and it is really tasty.

I blitzed the oats first, then as I had no peanuts made walnut butter and went from there. I added extra walnuts, currants, sunflowers and raspberries. We both thought it was sweet enough without adding maple syrup so I left it out. I made it into a slice and cut it into small pieces.mam storing it In the freezer. Bet it doesn't last long  :D

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think I will do a slice next time too. I think you could add anything you liked. I loved it as it was sort of healthy.

Made these for DH club morning tea along with other biscuits. They turned out really nice. I can see it is a good recipe for adding bits and pieces. Nuts, a bit of crio bru or perhaps some coffee. I will make it again.
