Just checked it out on Good Reads. Looks like a great book. On my reading list now. Thanks so much for the recommendation Gert!

I have only just looked at Goodreads after Amanda linked it on here. I like the way I can read about books such as this one. I have been using librarything but I think I prefer Goodreads.

I'm reading a chick lit at the moment. Nobody but Him by Victoria Purman.

I'm reading Big Brother, it was on our book club list but I was a little slow and the others started and hated it so took it off the list before i got to it! I was really curious to still read it and finding it interesting.

Also finished jasper Jones for my book club. I was the only one who hated it. Thought it was Famous Five meeting Aust. Women's Weekly!

I tried and I wanted to read it but found the trial bit  tedious and long winded in the first person. I will put it on my wish list for when I have more patience for words.  I want to know Marta's  whole story.

Could not agree more. Probably recommended  by a book clubs teenager. Utter.

Re Jasper Jones, I am so glad I have someone else other than me who felt this way. I think the person who chose the book was quite dumbstruck by my review and a bit offended! So then I had to go into a spiel about book clubs being good for robust discussions! I belong to two book clubs and I call this a foodie/ book club. Yummy food but everyone is terribly polite about the book selection and no one actually says they don't like a book!!!!

I really enjoy my bookclub. We meet in the local library so no one does any food. We have people in totally different age ranges and from all walks of life, although ex teachers do dominate a little. There is always at least one person who doesn't like the book and our discussions are good. One lady writes heaps and can go on but who cares. I was the only person who enjoyed The Paris Wife so I had a lot of defending to do that night. :)

I just enjoyed reading about the horrid way he treated her, and the company that they kept. Thinking what a silly woman she was to put up with it. I guess I have become interested in that era since becoming involved with the Model A cars.

Yes  interesting relationship. Though I have not read this book I have read others about their/his/her life.  Wonderful era for cars and characters.
