I've just finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I quite enjoyed it. I'm now reading Broken Vessels by Lucy Ulrich. I was sent it to review and I would not recommend it.
My next book will probably the Donna Leon I need to read for book club.
DDhas just read The Taliban Cricket Club and enjoyed it.

Thanks cookie 1 I will have a look tomorrow. Telstra  has slowed  down my Internet to nearly a full stop  and I do not want to waste my 3G on my iPad to download now.The Taliban Cricket Club sounds good.

I hate Telstra. They probably slow it down to force us onto the NBN but I am not having it. Drives me nuts.

I like Dona Leon's books. I've just read Revoultionary Road for book club tomorrow night, and will be interested to hear wht the others thought of it

You might like "Cutting for Stone" Gretch (my fave read for quite a while), and I may download "All that I am" or something like that. Not sure however if I can read another Jewish/German holocaust book for the time being as I have read quite a lot and this subject is very popular ATM. Anyone read the latter?

CP I think I am over the  Holocaust books too. I have visited some of the places and  think I have learned enough for many a lifetime. Never Forget.

Will look up your choices. Guess we won't have time for much reading at the retreat!

This is not quite on the subject, but the topic is (sort of) relevant.  This is a query to kindle owners.  Is there any way you can actually DELETE any books from the kindle.  I archive my books, but there are some that are just so terrible (a series of bad choices) that I want to get rid of them altogether and never think about them again!

I go into my Amazon account to Manage your Kindle and all your books should come up.  Find the book you want to delete and on the right hand side when you click on the tab it gives you a selection of what you want to do.  One of those is to delete from Kindle click on that and it will  ask you to verify you want to delete (you can't get them back unless you pay or select them again) Just say yes, and it should delete them.

CP I'm reading 'all that I am' ATM. Haven't got to the holocaust yet it's mostly pre-war, rise of the nazi party stuff. Taking me a while to read it bcos I only read on the train, but I am enjoying it, very interesting.

Oops forgot the reason I came on this thread! Looking for holiday reading recommendations - stuff to read poolside, beachside etc (happy dance). I don't have an e-reader, & I read anything except horror genre. Any suggestions?

I've got it on Kindle Gretch. The book I'm currently reading is "The Buddha in the Attic", its ok and only just sustaining me on an interest factor. Always on the look out for that riveting page turning book which you don't want to put down...
