Grape juice recipe - suggestions to improve my 'recipe'
« on: January 24, 2011, 05:59:22 am »
I couldn't find a recipe for grape juice, and I had two bunches of seeded grapes that needed to be used. So this is what I did:

500gr grapes, washed, in TM, for 10 seconds on speed 6
Then cooked them for 10 mins,  :-: at 100 degrees.
I strained the mixture over a fine sieve in the fridge overnight. Today we have delicious grape juice that needs no sweetening. It's a bit cloudy, but I like all the bits in it, otherwise I guess I could have strained it again over muslin/cheese cloth.

Does this all sound OK? Any suggestions to improve it?

I've never tried it - but it sounds like you like it so that's all that matters.  ;) this link says exactly what you did but to get it clear run through a coffee paper. http://www.pickyourown.org/grapejuice.htm
Thanks for that recipe - I'll give it a go next time we have grapes - I might even go out and pick the last ones and do this.
Has anyone else tried Grape Juice??? Anyone??  :-\

I'm afraid I eat them.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
