Wow!! That's something coming from you JD!  :-* :-* I heard on Macca this morning that Adelaide was going to get that hot - I can't understand why it gets so hot down there when it's so close to Tassie - must be the desert heat???

Even we were feeling the heat down here in Tassie today Nay.  I think we must have hit at least 25 ;) ;D.

Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne - we all get very hot.  Tassie sounds nice during summer though.  Took some scones + some jam and cream around to Mum and received a phone call later saying the scones were 'absolutely delicious' so from one family to another, we thank you.   :-* :-*  I just found the dough so easy to work with and it was the quickest batch of scones I've ever made.

Nay-nay I have a friend in Adelaide and I just don't get it either. To me further south means colder, further north hotter, move to the other side of the equator and the opposite.

Mum was never a good scone maker Nay-nay and us kids used to love the odd Sunday morning when the lady around the corner would bring us some hot scones wrapped in a tea towel.  I therefore never learnt how to make them either, tried but it wasn't until the TMX came into my life that I had success.

Thank you so much for this.  I would call myself an experienced cook but I have never had sucess with scones so I will be trying this out.

These were the first totally successful scones I have ever made as well - they're wonderful.  I always have a stock sitting in the freezer now for when visitors come (and for me when visitors don't come!).

Nay-Nay these were very very nice, Made them today with some TM rasberry jam and Cream. yummo.
Only problem they didnt last long.  :-))

I have always been hopeless at making scones!......seems like I still am  :P
I made a 1/2 batch just now, but my dough was really  sticky.  I was careful of measurements, so did I knead it for too long perhaps ?
I did add some extra flour to the dough, and that did bring it all together.  So how long does everyone knead it for please?
