Hi, my workplace is participating in the World's Biggest morning tea for cancer research tomorrow and I've been begged to bring a savoury dish. I won't have much time in the morning, so ideally would like to prepare and even cook the dish tonight and then just reheat in the morning wrap snugly in foil and present at 10am. Does anyone have some easy suggestions (apart from mini quiches)??
Thanks, Nadine

Cheddar cheese muffins.

savoury scrolls, eg. ham and cheese, pizza (there are recipes on this forum)
vegetarian sausage rolls (again on this forum somewhere)

Does it have to be something hot Nadine. What about a couple of dips or the little chicken balls in the EDC are nice with a dipping sauce.

Savoury Toasts
90g cheese, grated in TMX
125g bacon, chopped in large pieces
1 egg
90g butter, softened
pinch cayenne pepper
2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Grate cheese, set aside. Chop bacon and place all other ingredients, including cheese back into *:. Mix together at about speed 3.
Spread on bread and cut bread into fingers. Bake in a hot oven until bubbly and brown.
These are nice both hot and cold.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Do you think if i made savoury scrolls I could make them to the point of filling cutting and putting on trays tonight and then put into the fridge overnight before the second proving. In the morning before going to the gym I could take them out of the fridge leave in a warm spot for the 112/2 hrs I'm out, and then pop in the oven to cook once I return?
Judy - they don't have to be hot but someone else is already making dips so they are out.

If you decide to do scrolls allow quite a bit of time for them to return to room temp and then prove again. My hot cross buns took forever when they came out of the fridge. :)

Scrolls are nicest warm. Can you make them the night before and warm them somehow before the morning tea?
