A brilliant idea, executed with clever marketing. Hope it catches on in OZ.

Yes, it's a brilliant idea.  I have been saying for years that the various food marketing authorities are their own worst enemies because they always 'pushed' the perfect fruit / vegetable - emphasising looks, not taste - and anything that didn't meet their imagined perfect standard was unacceptable.  I hope one of the big chains here catch on to this wonderful initiative.  Our farmers certainly need this sort of support as well.

Fantastic initiative, would be great if our supermarkets picked up the idea.

I just shared that on Facebook. As if there isn't enough waste without throwing away fresh fruit and verges because they look different.  Perfect world mentality!

Great minds think alike  ;D ;D  I've shared it, too.  Can you just imagine the "Big 2" doing this and claiming, "Look what wonderful things we're doing now!"  lol

There's a store that I often pop into on my way home when I have a casual day's work at school.  They have a set of shelves near the exit door with marked down, "imperfect" stock . ... it's my first port of call . . . ;)

That video popped up on my Facebook feed last night too -  great idea! I often wonder what happens to all the ugly food...the stuff I grow in the garden looks nothing like those perfect carrots etc.

I love it. I don't know why the ugly fruit and veg aren't donated to food charities that do soup kitchens etc.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
