I can tell you for sure that 1 tbsp = 20g if you're measuring olive oil, if that helps.  (Good question!)

The gluten-free bread recipe in this book is excellent.  It is by Cyndi O'Meara, from Changing Habits, Changning Lives.

I too would like to say thank you to rivmum for all that typing.  Bravo!

Chit Chat / First impressions of Thermomix

Hi to forum members.

I thought people might be interested in this Wordle graphic, constructed from 500 phrases of feedback of what guests were most impressed by at Thermomix demonstrations:

http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/3934943/Thermomix

In a three word summary, versatility, simplicity and speed.

How does that match up to your own first impressions of Thermomix?

I was searching for a Thermomix asparagus recipe - couldn't find one on the forum itself, but thank you to Thermomixer for publishing these two on the Thermomixer blog:

Can these books be ordered online somewhere?

Yes, Sydneymama, you could go straight to the http://www.thermomix.com.au website and click in on the contact page to ask your question, but you would then be liiable for postage as well.  That probably doesn't worry you, but by going straight to the website, you'll also be cutting out your hardworking local consultant.  Are you still in contact with your consultant?  He/she can provide you with a complete pricelist for all recipebooks, accessories and spare parts for the Thermomix.  Your consultant can also show you the recipe books, to let you have a good loook before you order.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi Everyone from a Tmx owner in Brisbane :)
« on: September 08, 2011, 01:05:26 pm »
Welcome, saffie00.  Practise and persist.  I'm amazed how often I feel the first time I make a TM recipe it's not the best but if I try it again it can be yummo.  I think it takes a little while to become confident with the Thermomix but I love it to bits and I am sure you will too.  Imagine all the scrumptious things you can cook with Brisbane's fruit and veges - pineapple sorbet, banana custard ... hmmm I can't quite think of a choko recipe for TM off the top of my head, but you know what I mean.  If there's one out there, it will be mentioned here somewhere.  Enjoy!

Hi dede.

Did you plant any basil?  If so, check our Basil Lemon Sorbet recipe here - looks sooo good.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Thermomix - New owner
« on: September 08, 2011, 06:29:15 am »
Dear Jo,
Welcome!  My tip is check out the nooks and crannies of the forum and practise, practise, practise your cooking.  I too was an anxious non-cook, who dreaded having to do things in the kitchen, but with Thermomix I'm flying.
On the http://www.thermomix.com.au website you will find a list of cooking classes.  Hopefully there'll be one near you, so you can go along to a class or two and learn even more about how to get the most out of your investment.
Enjoy!

Kia ora nzpip.  Seeing your post brought to my mind's eye all that ocean at your feet on the east coast.  Sounds as if your destiny as Gisborne's first Thermomix dealer awaits you!  Cheerio - keep up your enthusiasm for this wonderful invention.

Selamat, Leon9.  I will be looking out for posts from you.  This is a pleasant forum, with highly experienced users, who are very supportive to those of us who haven't had their Thermomix as long.  Enjoy both the forum and the wonderful Thermomix!

Dear shontelle,  Welcome!  The Thermomix is fantastic and it's a tribute to you that your husband trusts you on that.  I look forward to lots of Kiwi recipes being posted and reviewed as you get playing.  Just bear in mind that if you search on kumara and can't find results, there'll be plenty if you search on sweet potato.  Kia ora.  --- cecilia

I regard the original MWOC Scallops with Leeks recipe as the most successful dish I have served from the Thermomix.  Wonderful.  All the guests loved it.
