Innocence personified, Amy!! What a great picture! ;D ;D

Wheatbags are wonderful!  But do be careful and don't put them under the bed covers or where they can retain or build up the heat inside.  I read an article just recently (can't remember just where atm) where doing this greatly increases the risk of spontaneous combusion - it goes up in flames and your bedclothes along with it.  It's best to use it where the air can get to it . . . .wonderful invention but scary if it's not handled with care . . .

Yep. The article was in the SMH...homemade and old wheat bags are particularly susceptible.

GF, you've scared me :o :'(
Maybe Paddy saw the article and that's why he destroyed the wheat bag...

If the wheat bags are heated in the microwave heaps of times  apparently the wheat dries out over time and can then catch fire if it is confined in a place where the heat can't be dispersed easily or something similar.

If you put 1/2 cup water in the microwave at the same time it stops the wheat drying out. 😊

Thanks for that Moo2. Very helpful. I don't have to worry about anyone catching fire. It is much appreciated.

Es, but we have a scorch mark in the microwave & the smell was shocking.
Heatbag bought from a chemist about 1 year ago.
