Our pets with photos
« Reply #1335 on: November 24, 2013, 06:56:03 am »
My new additions to my birds arrived yesterday
1 green and 1 blue quaker. I already have 1 of each, so now I have 2 pairs. Hopefully I will get some babies to hand rear.
But 4 Quakers in the same aviary can be extremely noisy.  Waiting for some DNA results so hopefully I will have 2 females and 2 males then I will separate them into breeding pairs

Not actually a picture of my birds

I now have 4 Quakers, 14 cockatiels, 2 canaries, 2 green cheek conures and 3 sun conures. Plus 4 cockatiel chicks I'm hand rearing at the moment and 23 cockatiel eggs in the aviary due to hatch soon

Mandi you obviously love your birds. We have a cockatiel and a budgie and when they get started they can be loud enough.

Yep I think I qualify for a crazy bird lady :D

My breeding pair of sun conures are actually going to a new home next week, they are definitely the loudest, although the 4 Quakers together getting to know each other and working out who is boss are being extremely loud at the moment. But as a single pair they are not too bad.
My baby cockatiels can be pretty consistent with noise when they want feeding, especially at the moment while I'm starting to wean them and cut their feeds down.

This is our dog, Sparky. The first picture was took the weekend after we picked her up from the dog shelter. She was a rescue.
Second picture was taken in the summer, aged 8 years old..

So maybe she's a bit grey around the edges but she still has as much energy now as she did that first weekend.

My DH has just vacuumed the living room and declared that Sparky is very hairy and very grey. We do love her to bits though!

Sparky is a gorgeous girl but she's just a pup compared to Roger. He is 16 and gets less impressed with his reindeer getup each year :D

This pic was taken last week. We give him glucosamine for his arthritis and he still bounds around like a pup.

Roger is lovely. Especially with his reindeer antlers.

I love Roger's colouring Gayle! Bet he hates it when Christmas comes around and he has to wear those antlers again LOL

Thank girls. I'll pass on your compliments   :D He's one of a kind and very clever (border collie cattledog x) The vet is astounded. We put it down to his good diet. He loves fruit (well most things really)! I could never work out why my strawberries never had ripe fruit until DD caught him in the act last year  :-))
