Judy, that is not nice. Hope it gets better quickly. Since seeing your finger I have been using the plastic protector.

That's good to hear Chookie. My finger is healing beautifully thank you.  2 nights ago I was cooking a rhubarb dessert with a cake topping in the oven in a water bath and the steam burnt my lower arm when I went to move it down to a lower shelf.  I'm such a klutz in the kitchen these days.

One good thing about experiences is that you learn from your mistakes astarra and I have certainly done that!

Your finger looks nasty Judy, grater wounds are very sore indeed!
I find I need to concentrate more these days when cooking, there is always too many things occupying our minds at once and it can lead to accidents like yours, do take care.

Looks like my baby brains are in action, had a very bad oooopps moment today..
So basically I turned the oven on to 200 deg to bake some chips and ended up with this :(

I had to put the bowl with yogurt in a warm place and stupid me, didnt take it out before switching on the oven :(((

Me too and no baby brain here. I have turned the oven on to heat many times and I've had something in there. Quite often a cake tin, some of mine aren't aluminium and I put them in there to dry completely.

Don't worry Thermilover, although I don't think it can be resurrected.

Put up a note next to the oven timer today, 'DO NOT SWITCH ON THE OVEN', it will surely keep my hands off  :-))

Boy am I silly!!!!!  I have doped myself up with hay fever medication as the easterly winds are really playing havoc with my eyes and nose. However that really isn't an excuse- I'm just using it as one.
I had made some tomato passata and had quite a few tomatoes left. Thermofun had a recipe for tomato paste so  I decided to try it. All went well and the paste tasted  lovely, I removed it and put it in a jug, then added a squirt of detergent to the jug to clean it. Wrong jug!  anyone want to try tomato paste that has been squirted with detergent. It has been cooking for 40 minutes and was getting  lovely and thick too.
That's what happens when you don't think!
