If you are going to use them jakodai, why not make life easier for youself.  There's nothing better than a gorgeously decorated home made cake.

That's what I tell myself, JD. I'm a bit of a show off, too, so I need all the help I can get to make everything perfect! ;-)

My cake decorating caddy came yesterday, now I'm just waiting on:
  • Ribbon Cutter
  • 13 inch angled spatula
  • Icing Bags & Ties
  • Decorating comb  & smoother
  • Rotating cake stand
  • Plastic dowel rods & cake circles (for stacked cakes)
  • 20 inch rolling pin & guides
  • Roll & cut mat

So I MAY have gone a LITTLE overboard with Amazon and my tax return, but I really love cake decorating  so I thought I may as well while I could. And it is so much cheaper than buying it in Australia.

You need good tools so it is a good purchase. You work hard and deserve it. What is more you will bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of people especially your self.

Jakodai, that is my way of thinking as well, you are going to have so much fun with your purchase.

Maddy, you must have a LOT of storage space! :) BTW, went to a retirement party last night for a librarian where there were about 100 cupcakes with each cupcake having a miniature book made of icing on top ...every book cover was different. Amazing artwork.

That sounds like me, Maddy. I have a 2 bedroom apartment, with a miniature kitchen, but I'm just creative. The wardrobes in the bedroom's are huge, so a lot of stuff is stored in there, especially my kitchen appliances. I had to get rid of a lot of stuff when I moved. My pantry is also very small, so I store a lot of my canned and packaged items and flour that I try to buy in bulk from Costco in my wardrobe as well. Clothes hang, and food & appliances are stored along the floor. It sounds horrible, but it's actually not too bad.And the flour is stored a large tin/drum type of thing, and I fill a smaller container that is kept in the kitchen as I need it. It's much cheaper than buying it by the kilo from the supermarket, and it's better quality.

I've seen cupcakes similar to those Courton, and I remember thinking "wow, someone has ALOT of patience". I don't think I'd be able to do it.
