Title: Cookidoo
Post by: cookie1 on September 15, 2018, 01:47:42 pm
I have started a 30 day free trial of Cookidoo.  I’m not sure why but I decided to have a peek at it. I’m going to try several of the recipes from it and see what they are like in the 30 days. I don’t have any problems converting recipes as I go but wanted a sticky beak of it.
I think after much reading I have sorted it and the cook key out.  I don’t think I would be bothered with the cook key as it simply enables you to synch recipes onto your thermomix and use the screen to instruct you.
I will keep you informed.

I have had cookidoo for a while, but I don't pay for the subscription.  This means the I only have the recipes from my own chips synched, makes it easy to find recipes from my own collection. I'm considering purchasing the cook-key while they are on special at the moment. -I'm finding the tm5 guided cooking really easy at the moment!

I've made a few things from Cooki doo since I had the cook key. They have all been very nice. It is certainly easy to stand there and do as it says. I like that you can over ride it if you wish.
I was charged full  price for mine! I didn't find out that they had $50 off until I got home. I rang and they said 'we will refund the $50 to your MasterCard!" I quickly pointed out that I didn't have a MasterCard. The lass on reception must have been asleep I think. Two errors in one transaction.
I haven't checked if it has been refunded. With the holiday today I thought I would wait until tomorrow.

I do hope you have sorted it out Cookie!

The thing that got me over the line with purchasing the cook key, was the free trial and the new cook book that will be released in the next day or two. I figured that I would.be buying that book and chip (approx cost $90?) But it would be better value to buy the cook key on special where I would be able to trial the new cookbook and a few of the others I had my eye on. At the end of the 6month trial, I'll decide if it is better value to purchase any books I used regularly or resubscribe.

BTW, I've enjoyed your posts in the other thread Cookie. My key arrives today so I hope.to contribute soon!

Lovely Jamberie. I'm looking forward to the new book. I am thinking that I will probably keep the cooki-doo subscription for another 6 months after mine runs out in April. I still haven't looked into all the available recipe/books. The UK site has lots and I have yet to get to the US site.
All but one recipe has been very nice.

My overcharge was refunded on the day I enquired. Very pleased.

Heard last night that they are working on Cookidoo series 2.  Apparently then instead of having to go into each country all recipes, books ect will be available from the country you are registered in in your language!  Not sure what I think but should be easier than using Google Chrome!

I got cross ;with Thermomix HO on Friday. I saw that the UK had a new book out. I was able to look at it on Cookidoo. However when I tried to get a few of the recipes it wouldn't let me. With Cookidoo you are supposed to have access to all of them. I rang as was told lots of waffle which boiled down to the fact that Australia hasn't yet got or changed to Cookidoo 2. I told the woman that I was paying for it and was then given 3 months free. She tried to tell me that Recipe Community was wonderful etc etc. Thank goodness she ;didn't ask my name as I would have been black  listed for life. I was firm and fed up but not angry.

Oh gosh Cookie I do apologise as I found out about the three month EXTEND3 on Facebook I think . It is all because you could not get on to other countries while they update it - I am sure it is because of the new TM6 . Have not tried to go to other countries for awhile . Have to say it will be good if they are in English .

No worries K Atie. I’d love to be able to read the German one.
The new book in the UK is called Savoury and looks to have some lovely recipes in it.

Cookie, I was able to get in over the weekend and after I read your post I just had a look.  I am able to get up a list of ingredients but not the method from the “savory” book!  I did go to an info night last friday and we were told that it shouldn’t be long before it’s all up and running!  Fingers crossed they are right.  I know it’s all OK in Europe!
