Help needed with mash
« on: July 28, 2013, 12:47:10 am »
I'm making this dish for dinner tonight but will need to make both cauliflower and potato mash. I don't eat mash normally so don't tend to make it very often. My question is would it be ok to make one of the mashes and put in a thermoserve while I make the second one, and if so which should I do first?

I think I'd mash the cauli first if you have to do them separately Wonder.  Have you thought of doing cauli/potato mash.  This could even be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven.  Mashed potato made ahead also heats well either this way or in the microwave I find.

I made that dish last Sunday wonder!  Great minds 😊😉

I did a plain potato mash though so can't help you with that unfortunately.

Judy thanks for the advice. I don't like mashed potato and the kids won't touch cauliflower so happy to do separate on this one. DH has said he doesn't like the TMX mash so is doing that on the stove after I've steamed the potatoes so problem fixed anyway.

Snappy what did you think of the dish? It's ended up quite expensive with the sherry, wine and meat, so I hope we like it.

Jeninwa I'll let you know what we think.

I love the Pedro-Ximinez part.
