Lovely cooking everyone.  Not a lot happening in my kitchen although I did manage to make Kimmy's Boiled Fruit Cake yesterday.

Lovely to see you back in the kitchen Chookie. I put some overnight rye SD in the fridge to make tomorrow and I tried steaming a fruit cake that you can make in the Dream Pot. Its too big to be steamed so I have put it in the oven to finish off. I might try it in a larger shallower dish next time.

Thought of Cookie as I cut into this loaf. The crust was soft. I think it was the mashed potato that did this. Certainty made it easy to slice.
Need to fill the biscuit tin again today. I think Anzacs with some nuts added.
Chicken stir fry with veggies from garden.

I tried a new bread recipe early this morning, supposed to rise in time for breakfast.   Not sure what day they meant, 5 hours later it still hasn't risen enough just hope it's worth the wait.

Have lamb shanks in the SC.

Mab, had a good laugh at your post. Let us know how it tasted, if it did eventually rise.

I eventually put it in the oven at 5.00pm even though it still hadn't quite reached the top of the tin.  The loaf has a nice flavour but is quite dense, don't think I will bother with this one again.

I baked my rye starter SD yesterday. It took from about 8am until 3 to rise. It always takes ages though.
I'm getting jobs done before we go away on Monday so no cooking here today. Podiatrist this morning, I came away with band aids on my big toes. I've never had that before, but he did hurt!

Mab, nice to try something different, even if it didn't work.
Cookie, must be those expensive French and Italian shoes that are playing havoc with your feet.!!   I envy your trip up north. It will be lovely.

What a busy day you had Katie.  Was the Romesco dip nice, I eyed that one off myself.  I hope the boys enjoy all the trouble you've gone to and that you have a wonderful time away with the girls.
