Festive Seasons / Re: Salted Caramel Fudge

Cookie, Woolies have a whole range of the Billington sugars now don't they. All unrefined sugars. I have bought a few but made this fudge and didn''t think to use it. Good to know it works though.

I also made some Bailey's fudge using this recipe. I cooked on Varoma for 20 mins then added 70ml of Baileys (as per Snappy''s suggestion, thanks) and then cooked for another 2 mins and then added the white chocolate melts, Everything else the same as per original recipe.

I thought maybe the extra liquid content because of the Bailey''s may affect it setting but it didn''t make any difference at all (I've made it without the Bailey's as well).

Funny thing is ........... I told my Mum I made some Bailey''s fudge. My ds''s name is Bailey. She said ohhh why does he really like fudge lol .......... I said nooooooo Mum, you know the drink, Bailey''s lol. She said ..... Well you know you will name your son after a drink lol.

Gert I don't know anyone that hasn't had a huge shock when they got their house insurance renewals this year !

Try Commonwealth bank insurance. You don't have to be a Commonwealth bank customer. We shaved $1,000 off our policy last year ...... and pay by the month for no extra fee.  But beware, when they initially quote it doesn't include accidental damage (ie if kids flooded the house) which is a must have for us, but even when added back in was still $1,000 cheaper. Bit left field so though I'd mention it as an option for you.

Thanks for the tip Gert ..........We've been mixing it with the Turkish apple that it came with, which is sweetened. It will get expensive with the kids drinking it lol. They keep offering it to everyone that drops in.  Can't keep up with making it.

I dragged my non-tea drinking DH into T2 when we were at a shopping centre we don't normally go to last week (we don't have a T2 locally) and we sampled all the teas and ended up getting the same as Mcmich. It was a packaged deal. The downside is the kids really like it so it's disappearing out of the fridge VERY fast.

He also got some Southern Sunrise. Might help get him off the Pepsi Max like Stacelee ........ I can only hope !

Will do. DD and I have decided we will buy him a very strong cover for Christmas. He really enjoys having the iPad to do things on and take photos.

Cookie, we buy Gumdrop cases off Amazon ......... they're brilliant ! The kids have dropped them (quite a few times) from bench height onto tiles and they never break. They have a built in screen protector. They usually cost us about $50 but cheaper than the cost of one screen.

Thanks to someone on here I picked up a coffee pod holder from Aldi and it holds eggs perfectly. We did gave a few problems with teenage boys thinking it would be a good idea to put the eggs in from the top - beware they pick up a lot of speed and fly out at you!!

Wonder, my 3 boys would do exactly the same (9, 6 and 5) ............. was hoping they get better by the teenage years lol. I can just picture eggs flying/splattering everywhere. Not for us I'm afraid but it is a good idea.

I bought all 3 boys Furby toys today .......... bargain price of $29.99.  I'm very chuffed at getting a bargain for Christmas lol. Toysrus had them for $90 ......... got them to price match Mr Toys for $29.99. $180 saved and I think the kids will love them.  I love Christmas ......

I took the kids to get their Santa photos done at Harvey Norman and we put up the Christmas tree. The kids decorated it and I set up the light up Christmas gift boxes I got in the sales last year ....... I looooveee them. Nice to have something under the tree because we don't have presents until Christmas eve .......... my little monkies would open them lol.
Here's a pic.
