Morning all.  We think the house is ok.  25 houses burnt at Kilmore which is a fair way from us,  but in our general direction  north of Melbourne.  We are still with Bruce and Mandy.  Will be home later today if CFA say ok.  Thanks for the concern shown by Forum members.

Goodmorning all,  Glad things are okay with you Chookie.  We were lucky last night that it turned quite cold and the wind dropped right out helping with the fire.  Hopefully they will be able to get it under control today before the wind gets up again.

Marie, Chookie and Ral my thoughts are with you. It must be very frightening. Take care and know we are all thinking of you. I hope your home stays safe Chookie.

I have only just caught up with this and am really shocked. Sending blessings and good luck to you all. How scary. Wish we could send you some of our rain. 119mm since feb 1st. And even more expected.
Such extremes from each end of the world.

Yes these fires are pretty scary everywhere plus the heat.

DJ  we have had nearly 600 mm of rain in the past 26 days!!   We have had 239.6 mm in the past 7 days.  At least we are warm, very warm and not a lot of wind.

Chookie and Marie thank you for coming on and keeping us informed. We all appreciate it. Chookie I hope all is ok at home. 25 homes gone at Kilmore is truly dreadful. The poor people.
Marie I hope they get the fire under control today. Sending hugs to you all.

Glad that you are safe, Chookie and Emme. Fires are scary. A few places a bit south from us were on fire last week. Friends in those suburbs were caught off guard. Thank goodness the firefighters did a sensational job.

Marie and Chookie... A huge sigh of relief for you both!! Chookie, hope you're allowed back soon and that everything is ok.

The damage left in the wake of out-of-control fires is just gut wrenching .. Really feel for those who have lost their homes and probably everything they own...  :(
