Today we went to the Kyneton Farmers Market. I took some herbs and jam for the swap table and came away with a small carton of fresh Autumn Raspberries. We also bought 3 Isa Brown hens. Nice girls. Our 2 old ones are only laying 1 egg a day  When we got home we had to fix up a fox proof cage for them. They seem very happy.
I also bought some King Edward potatoes.  These are my Favorite potatoes but you rearly see them.

Don't have any of Peter Evens books. Bit too in your face for me.

I love the sound of the markets too. You always take and come away with great produce Chookie. I'm sure you would have very happy hens  :D

I'm just home from work, the only shift I've accepted this week but as I booked the hotel for Melbourne this morning thought I should start getting some spending money together.

We went on a bus coach tour of wineries in the Swan Valley (including 1 Brewery),, finishing up with evening meal at a restaurant.
At the 3rd winery, they had a cafe that served light meals, and not being a big wine drinker, I was ready for a coffee. DH noticed they had a Thermomix sitting on the bottom shelf of a food cart. The bowl was sitting on it's side next to the base. I wanted to say 'why isn't that Thermie taking pride of place in your kitchen?'  >:(

I too need to get back into the swing of coming back here and posting. We've had three deaths in the last three months to cancer which has really taken the wind out of my sails.

Anyway I've been learning about fermenting and bone broths. Been shopping organically. It's actually saving us heaps. We live basically and don't end up with all the stuff we don't need.

I love going to the markets. Which is all I've done today after dh flew home after being stuck on Barrow Island with the cyclone last week. Some cooking soon.

Condolences from me too INAID, such a sad time for your family.

I've had the most wonderful day at Adelaide's Fringe Festival  with the kids.  Saw 2 shows and laughed our heads off. The 5 of us all had something different for lunch, the choice of food was amazing and the setting in the eastern parklands couldn't have been more perfect.

My deepest sympathy INAID. Life can be rough at times.

Judy that sounds like fun. We had a car run today. We went down to Waroona, had lunch and a meeting and came home. The journey was about 240km. We were so pleased the old car didn't miss a beat. It was a big drive for it.

My gosh, INAID . . I think "wind out of your sails" would be putting it mildly!  My deepest sympathy to you and to those near to you.  I hope you have some smooth sailing now.  Fermenting is great.  It'll be interesting to hear how you're doing in that direction!!  All the best - and do look after yourself!!   : :-* :-*

Sounds like JD and Cookie had a fun Sunday.  :D

Don and I went to Morpeth today - an historic town full of charm, it's always a good day there. We had the worst meal though, so bad that I ate 1 bite and didn't have anymore and Don ate about half, only because he had to pay for it. We went home via the Hunter Valley and shared a tasting plate of cheeses and quince paste which was wonderful and only $14. Vegan diet out the door for today  :o  first dairy I've had since October 2nd last year but I don't feel any worse for wear. It's good practice for our Easter trip away when I will be eating some meat, hoping I can be OK with that.

Me too Inaid, life has a nasty habit of kicking when we are down. Deepest sympathy to you all.  Glad your DH was safe on Barrow.

We had a wander around the crab fest today, it really showcases Mandurah and there is something for all.
