Cookie, I have been thinking about your Nanna naps.  In an effort to control the pain in my leg, exercises, pain killers, magnesium ointment, I have added a Nanna nap.  I think this may be making a big difference. For the last 2 days I have had less pain. Thank you Cookie.

Fantastic. I find I need one by Wednesday or Thursday.😃

There is very little that is better than a good nanna nap when you need it.

Today I am hiding behind closed curtains with my ceiling fans turned up in an effort to keep cool - 36 here just now, 40 tomorrow!!

See it is going to be hot in Adelaide also.  Keep cool Judy.
Will get the ice machine going today. Put some ice in the Chook water. Laying low and reading. Have been reading the Bridgestone series. Jane Austen meets Mills and Boon. Studied Jane Austen in depth at Uni, so I am fascinated about how her themes have been adapted to modern life.  Bit too much sex for me, but this is what seems to sell.

I was looking at a Bridgestone novel yesterday and I am still deciding whether I will buy it or not. I agree with the " too much sex" comment.  I often turn several pages without reading them just to skip that part. I find a more subtle approach far more descriptive to the story.

Hiding behind closed curtains and cooler on is so apt , it’s very warm today . DD likes the heat - turns aircon off in house when possible  opens blinds curtains in her room ! Wears a jumper too , do not know where these genes come from at all. DH carting grain . Both boys worked till midnight came home and ate their dinner ! We all got to bed at 1.30 am

Exercise check up today.  Think it is helping.
Last lot of plum and raspberry jam.  Will wait until it cools  off this afternoon.

KAtie your life is far too busy to be boring.

I met my brother for coffee this morning, before he goes back to school. Most enjoyable.

DD and I have just started watching Bridgestone on Netflix. We actually find that we laugh at it in places. It seems to be a bit of a parody to us.

Cookie, the Bridgestone stories seem to be written to a formula.  Damaged hero saved by a strong woman. Don’t think I will watch on TV.

Ok so think I am stressing now . DD is off to uni in Melbourne and living in college . Thats fine but we talked last night all her peers are taking a gap year only three are off to Uni this year ( this is the girls , most of the boys even the brightest seem to not going to uni this year also ) I am please for DD but also after having a year of not interacting with parents it is hard to feel that we are on the right track . Yes they are doing something for thier Gap year too , well the ones we know of .

KAtie you are the people who know your DD the best. With Covid around a Gap year may be better later.
Chookie Bridgestone is like a tv Mills and Boon. I do like some of the outfits though.

I did a bit of housework today.

KAtie, I agree with Cookie.  You know what is best for your DD.  Also if she chooses to go to Uni this year the best you can do is support her. Our GD has also chosen to go and also live in.  This may help, depending on which residential college she has chosen. GD has chosen Menzies College at LaTrobe.  Shared Kitchen and bathroom facilities.  Former resident has suggested that she put a mini fridge, fan and small TV in her room. Also not to take on any extra activities for the first few months. We feel that the horrible COVID year, last year has been good in preparing student towards independence.
It will be a difficult year for you but it is important that your DD knows that you have confidence that she will cope.
