I made this for DD today but the GK's and I had a slice whilst it was still warm.  I made mine in a ring tin, only a small cake but delicious.  How did you get your top so brown Astarra, mine and everyone else's is nowhere near as dark as yours.

When I made this as muffins, the tops were pale, but I put it one rack higher in the oven for the cake and it seemed to cook better the whole way through, also did not use fan forced, don't really know!! and didn't get to try it, either!!  8)

Thanks astarra, I just like the look of a darker top.  Mine was quite high up in DD's oven as I was cooking bread below but it was very pale.  I wondered if you had egg washed it.

This was sooooooo easy. Made today to go with the custard made at the demo for the TM5. It looked great and went down a treat.

I may turn out to be a pastry chef like my grandma.....,..NOT!
