Cooking GF has challenged me to get out of my cooking rut.  Yesterday I made Middle Eastern lamb meat balls served on GF wraps with yogurt sauce, tomato and lettuce. It was a nice light meal.
Made ham and split pea soup in SC.   Falafels for GD. Tripe ( without the onions) in parsley sauce.
Everything I cooked was GF. I also used low lactose milk and Yoghurt.

Well done Chookie. I am not a fan of tripe, although DH and Mum used to enjoy it when she made it for him. I refuse to.

Cookie, the vanilla slice looks nice, thanks for the link.

My Mum would cook tripe for my Dad but we were never made to eat it.

Made Ground Cinnamon yesterday.  I buy the bark and grind it in the TMX.  It is so much nicer than the bought stuff.
Also made ABC Nut Paste .
I have never made a Victoria Sponge.   Thought I might make one for Mother’s Day.
The GF bread that I made and didn’t like, Is ok toasted.

I made up a SD batard using Chookie's starter. I decided to cook it in  the casserole from a cool oven. It looked really good but is a bit doughy. I will let it rise a lot more if I try it again.
I also made a fruit slice using a shortbread topo and bottom with left over Christmas fruit mince in it.

Cookie,  love the look of the loaf.  How long did you bake it with the lid on. ?  I usually give mine 50 minutes and then 10 with lid off.
Had a slice of Persian Love Cake yesterday.  Think I might make a GF one.

I baked it for 50 minutes with the lid on Chookie and 15 with it off. I checked back to see what you had done.

I cook the full roast lunch for Mother’s Day.   Best part is I don’t have to clean up.  GC made me a gold crown out of Chocolate wrappings.

I hope everyone has had a lovely day. I had a lovely sleep in all the way until 8.30. It was bliss. Tonight DH has taken care of dinner he says. I think it will be Red Rooster, that is his specialty. DD is cooking sweets-she said it is something I love.

Everything sounds and looks great, ladies.  For me, as I was feeling totally grotty with a head cold, it was a case of "same old - same old", roast veg frittata, pumpkin soup and fried rice, not very exciting at all, but at least it has filled up the fridge for a few days and I didn't have to think about any of it.

Mab,  love those mushroom tarts.
Today I am making stock from the chicken and duck carcasses.  Cottage pie from leftover lamb.
