I did read somewhere that if you have a bit of fat in your bowl  you drop one or two  ice cubes in and the fat will be drawn to it and you can just scoop it out, haven't tried it only read about it yesterday but I will next time I need to  :)

Yum ;D

I picked all the bones out and just served the meat and gravy over mashed sweet potato, with leeks in white sauce and steamed peas. Delicious and very easy. The fat had set nicely on top so it was very easy to remove, then I just heated the meat and thickened the gravy.

Looks great Amy and a great idea to take the bones out as that was the one complaint from the kids.

Suzanne I always use the ice cube trick when taking fat out of pan juices for gravy it ensures you don't loose any of the good juices, depending on the quantity of fat you may need to do it a couple of times.

I'm making this for dinner now... love how the smell goes through the house.

Also making eggplant stew. Will post my variations later with report on taste.
