Cute Hally.

Helsbels we always freeze leftover bread. I slice it and pack it in lots of 4 slices. Then take it out an hour or so before we need it. Just as good as freshly baked. Try Chookie's sourdough that is nice for a few days if you don't want to freeze it.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Cookie, next one will be better.

JD, Yes the legs rose too much :D, lol, just when I didnt want them too, it was ony a 30 min 2nd rise!!

Cp saw it when he came home, abSolutely loved it, wants salsa in it to look lke a redback. Might make 2 for the party, or do mini rolls with it with different dips inside.

Hi chookie
Actually got to make bread today lol... Anyway new oven, new all mixed in flour (crusty bread laukes) and was a bit of a rush as wanted rolls for lunch anyway verdict nice and crusty outer but slightly doughy inner .. I should have proved them a bit more on second rise but my question is that here the oven is fan forced so what temp do you cook it at.. Ive only ever used gas and standard electric.. Not a fan of fan forced.. I know the general rule is 10 to 20 degrees less but has anyone tried this recipe in fan forced and if so what do you do re temp time etc..

Also not used to this bread mix flour as i always bought flour from mill, fresh yeast etc and added salt and sugr.. Has salt in i gredients but not sugr so added 1 tsp of sugar but no extra salt and the yeast provided in packet (dried).. Is that all you do chookie or anyone using laukes bread mixes??? Oh and of course water.. I also added 350 ml as the individual packs are 600g each??

Not too bad an effort with everything new anyway lol!

I cook these rolls at 200oC F/F Kim and I thought the Lauke premixes had both sugar and salt already added.

Judy, has it right.  200FF,  but this depends on oven. Don't add sugar or salt.  Their yeast is very good.  The rolls should not be doughy in side.  Dish with water in bottom of oven.  I would say you didn't let them double, and/or didn't cook them hot/long enough.  This recipe works well with Laucke Premix,  this is what i use.

Ive never had a prob before chookie amd think it was a bit of both plus new oven and rush to get them ready for lunch as new if i stuffed it up dod wouldnt want me making them again but didnt let them quite double.. Yes put water dish in oven .. Have always do e that but because of oven and putting it at 210 first the. Realising its ff so need to reduce it was a bit hit and miss with time and i was worried they would burn so turned it down to 190.. Its frustrating me being here as someone is set in their ways and im not free to do as i please... Soon though soon..!!

Also they were only slightly doughy and everyone ate them but i got a comme t from u know who!
