Thanks for your comments about our lockdown. Our area will be placed into “Tier 2” after lockdown on December 2nd. Quite restrictive but at least we escaped “Tier 1” which is awful. We are very diligent about always wearing a mask, using antibacterial gel on our hands when needed and always wash our hands if we have stepped outside the house. I bought a bulk buy of antibacterial soap, it should last us years😂
A deep frost here overnight. DH had to defrost my car before I could drive early to the supermarket this morning,

Good news here today. Lockdown 2 will cease on the 2nd of December. If it’s a disaster with families meeting for Christmas and the numbers start rising again after the festivities, we are headed for Lockdown 3.🤪

Our new kitchen is wonderful Chookie. I had a bit of a baking disaster baking Spiced Pumpkin Bread in one of my ovens a couple of weeks ago. It didn’t totally cook through but we ate it anyway 😂
It's worth buying a little oven thermometer so you can test the temperature in your new oven. When we replaced ours a good few years ago now, everything was over-cooked or over brown. A thermometer showed it ran 40C hotter than the dial. It improved by 10C over time but I still set it now at 30C less than stated and things cook as they should. Worth a try Cornish.
Thanks Julie.😁 A few dinners I have made recently are Shepherds Pie, Sausage and Mash, Pork Chops in BBQ sauce and Fish and Chips.

Stay safe SA friends. 🤗 I read that you are in a 6 day lockdown. Not sure whether our lockdown will be lifted for Christmas . It all depends on whether the “R” rate drops significantly.

CC, delicious. How is the new kitchen? Lamb cutlets, grilled. Potatoes?, broccoli from the garden and leftover sweet potato. Fresh Pineapple.

A few of the dinners I have cooked recently. Chicken Veloute with steamed new potatoes and sprouts. Beef Stirfry with peppers and sugar snap peas with egg noodles. Indian Spiced Butternut Squash and Chickpea curry with steamed basmati rice. ( Cookidoo recipe site) Hungarian Goulash is on the menu tonight with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Dived into Fast and Easy Thermomix cookbook for this old recipe. 😁

Nice to hear from you Kim.😁
It’s really lovely reading your posts. Great news that everyone is able to see loved ones again and go places. I had to laugh at your comment Chookie of tuning out Ral with your hearing aid. We are into day 12 of a month’s lockdown. Horrible weather here, it’s seems to have rained nonstop for ages.

I found a sad looking packet of cubed stewing beef in the freezer. DS gave me some Jalapeño chilies he had grown so threw these and additional ingredients into the slow cooker to make Chilli Beef.

CC it's never a good thing to have to go into lock down, but I feel it is better if it is in the cooler / colder weather because people are not so keen to get outside as they are in the warmer months. Best wishes if you have to ... get back into your hobbies, make sure you have something positive and constructive to do, take Chance for lots of walks, keep yourself occupied ... it helps ... above all, keep safe and well.
Thank you Marina, Chookie and Cookie for the kind words of advice. We go into lockdown on Thursday for a month. Hopefully this break will see Covid numbers reduced.
