Your parents must have full confidence in your abilities Amy, I'd not like being given such short notice.  I like to think about and prepare food in advance as much as possible when having visitors, not to mention setting the table nicely the night before.

I like to think that they do Judy, but I hope they realise that last night was pushing it a bit. Like you, I want to give as much thought to a nice menu and presentation as possible when we have guests around. I would never normally serve steak, chips and cauliflower cheese! Usually it would be a lovely slow cooked roast with a good selection of vegetable side dishes, followed by some sort of pudding with custard.

We're having a curry from the first tmx calendar, with rice cooked elsewhere and maybe some veggies.

Here is a photo of one of last nights home made sausages. I didn't eat much as the sneezes are/were getting the better of me.


The sausages were lovely. I had another cold for lunch today.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

We used rump steak, and put some EVOO instead of adding fat, a fair bit of black pepper and lots of parsley. We were cautious as it is our first lot.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

My SIL & BIL dropped in tonight on the way to see Geoff so I ended up with a lovely beef roast BIL cooked.

we went to the only restaurant in Green Head for dinner tonight kids had a great time playing outside and since I didn't have to cook I enjoyed it immensely ;D;D
