Sri Lankan neighbours have invited me in for dinner. They are cooking Hoppers, a national dish.

Margaret, how do you make a pastie without using pastry then.

Judy I just make the pasties as normal for everyone and take the pastry off mine then chop up the cooked meat and veg in the tmx and add some gravy or sauce.  A lot of mucking around but it works.

Skinnymixers is good but always substitute all the dried ingredients like garlic onion powder and ginger for fresh . No way does anyone need the amount of dried ingredients. That’s just because they have a deal with grandmas pantry dried goods . Once that’s all removed it is great . Out for dinner last night ! DH had leftovers.
