Just as well I don't live near Peters as I really like these.

They're gorgeous Gert.

I had a read about fitbits, would love one, but will make do with my scales. I'm sure they wouldn't lose the weight for me, I'd still have to not eat. :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

They're quite cheap, too, Gert. If we drank more juice I'd consider it, but given that I don't have room for the stuff I have now, I probably shouldn't...

LOL, so true Cookie. The worse part about weight loss is not being able to eat EVERYTHING! I'm hoping that the fitbit will help keep me motivated (I'm very competitive) and the scales will make it easier to keep track of my weight. That's where I fall apart, I weigh myself, but then forgot to write it down or track it somehow, and by the time I do I've forgotten and get side tracked. Then next week I can't remember how much I weighed, so I don't know if I've actually lost weight, then I lose all motivation. And my old scales were cheap ones I bought years ago, and they've been dropped several times - the fitbit scales connect to the internet and track my weight automatically, and they also track body fat %, and BMI. And for that price, they'd want to be accurate! ;-)

By the way, I got my Fitbit tracker and Scales today... lol

I'm going to a market tomorrow, but I'm not holding high hopes for it - I've never been there before, but the information that I have doesn't look that great. Oh well, the mornington market is pretty close by, so if it's no good we'll head there instead. That's a great market!

I went to an outlet centre in Adelaide a couple of days ago & bought the WW pressure cooker cookbook for $8 - and I don't even have a PC! Call it research 😉
Oh & picked up some suede boots very cheap.

I found a great little gourmet food importer and bought plenty  :-))

I bought a slab of pink salt that you cook on - kind of lke a portable grill.  cooked some steak on it last night and i was very surprised to watch it just cook on a slab of salt.

Also got some liquid smoke which i had been looking for for a while.

And borrowed another jam book from the library but that doesn't really count because i have to give it back!

How long did it the steak take to cook Snappy? Can you use it more than once?

I sliced the steak up thin and cooked it in slices - it took about 5 mins to cook (heated the salt block in the oven for about 25 mins first) but next time i am going to cook the steak whole.  Apparently the salt block should last for many years.

Here is what i mean http://www.savory.tv/2008/12/14/cooking-on-a-salt-block/

And i'm also told they are fantastic to freeze and serve cold desserts on - all i can think of is the salted maple ice cream! ;D

Robotic hoovers

Has anyone got one?
I'd be interested to hear your Reviews and comments please.

I understand they may be good for regular use but still the proper vacuum cleaner is needed weekly and for the stairs.

I think there are several types the two I have heard most about are
iRoomba
And Neato

I think the Neato had slightly better reviews.

I have two large rooms with Lino type flooring, and lots of carpet. Lots of dust, dirt and flour in the kitchen to deal with.

So interested in your opinions/experiences.
If this is not the right thread for this then I can move it.
thanks in advance

Snappy, I have been reading up on the salt blocks. Sounds like a good way to cook.
I'ld be interested in other recipes you make using the salt block. Was the steak tender?
