CP I would have found all that frightening. Lucky you had someone with you.
We had friends burgled the other night. They had left their security door unlocked. He was in the shower, and she was in the office just finishing a few things. The burgers came in, took her handbag etc, walked out the back door and back out tothe front of the house. I think there is a message there.

That is just so brazen - what is wrong with people? Seriously, to burgle someone is bad enough, but while they are right there... ??? >:(

Not scary for me, it was like the Keystone cops  :D The cop told us to shut the door and see if it locks (I don't think at that stage he had thought of Plan B). I called their son who lives only about 5 mins away and he came and checked the place, he thought it was a bit funny because his parents are always telling him to remember something or other and I think he's thinking he's got a bit of ammo now  :D)  My house was as secure as Fort Knox last night.

I've been quite vigilant after an event where family had just finished having a lovely Sunday lunch, and then this lady walks in and starts introducing herself, shaking our hands and saying how she thought she'd pop in and see how we were going. We were kinda shocked because everyone was trying to work out if someone knew her without an overly puzzled raised eyebrow expression on our faces. Don't know how long she'd been in the front part of the house, but DD took her back to a house about 4 doors down where the 7yo grandson was supposed to be looking after her for a bit  :D It was a wake up call for me. With regards to invasion, I especially begrudge not being able to leave your back door open as it is a security risk whilst you are home.

The van is packed except for a few last minute items and we will be off tomorrow. :)

I want to take thermie with me and would like to know if there are any hints for travelling with him.  He will be packed in his carry bag and I know he has to lay on his side for travelling.  Is there anything else I need to do for his safety :)

Can't wait to get away. :D :D

Hey Mab,, the only thing I would suggest would be to put Thermie up front, (in the car would be better) not way down the back of the van - especially if you are doing any rough roads. Even in his travel bag rough roads could upset him a little.

Other than that, have a fantabulous trip...and I am jealous, hanging out to get away.  ;D

Easter is coming isn't it? I'm heading off camping then.

Mab I don't know if this is too late. I always put my thermomix in the bag and sit it on the floor of the back seat. I don't think it has to be on its side if it is in the bag.  I never put mine on its side, just use the bag and it has done many 1000’s km. have a safe trip.

I think cookie it depends on how much a shaking it will get. My consultant gave me a talking to when I put my Thermomix  on it's feet on the floor of the back seat of her car. Talk about tail between legs . Whack whack she went!  And it was in a box!!!!

Thanks cookie & Gert.  Thermie will be in its bag and in the car with me.  I will lay it on its side just to be safe.

Yes CC I finally got them made.  Decided to do some anzac biscuits as they are quick to make.

I am so looking forward to getting away.  We will probably head for Narooma on the NSW south coast.
