I've just been up to have a sneak peak at the kitchen and it is looking really good - WHOOPEEEE!!  I am so excited.  Loads of drawers and enough bench space to work with.  The bench top is not in yet, nor the cook top, dish washer, etc.,, but they will probably leave them until nearer completion time.
How exciting for you Marina.

Marina, that is more than exciting.  I still feel over the moon when I think about all the new drawers we had put into our kitchen. Let us know how it looks.
Yesterday we went out for our French breakfast then I drove to Talbot.  A small town with a Farmers Market.  We bought 3 Wallflower plants and 2 Euphorbias. Also2 parsnips for $4. Ridiculous.
That’s expensive parsnips Chookie.

After putting up with a next to uselss phone for the past couple of weeks I bit the bullet yesterday and bought a new one.  As good fortune would have it, my nephew was visiting from NZ so, as he is the IT specialist in the family, I dragged him off to help me choose.  I now have a lovely Nokia.  Nothing super dooper top end, but it will do all I ever need until it kicks up its heels (nephew says phones don't last more than 2 years these days!).

I was totally bemused when I was researching new phones on the internet that 99% of them talked almost exclusively about the camera's attributes, very little information about the actual phone, perhaps they should change the name of the item now to campho or something to reflect it's new status!  ;D

Lucky for you that your nephew was able to accompany you Marina, I’m sure sales people take advantage of we females when we’re shopping for devices. My SIL in Melbourne knew I was in the market for a different smart phone so for an early birthday present he bought me a second-hand Apple 6S.  Me and my phone are getting along famously, I should have listened to others, bitten the bullet and bought an Apple ages ago.

How lovely Marina. I have an Android- Samsung. DH took an Apple hand me down from DD and he loves it. He can even use it!  He has never texted before and now he can.

I think mobile phones are horrible and so intrusive!  I absolutely hate mine but reluctantly recognise and acknowledge the necessity of having one these days.  I agree with you, Judy, some salesmen see us (women of a 'certain age') coming and you can almost see them rubbing their hands with glee - what we need is Gert to come down here and teach them a short, sharp lesson!

Totally.
Thank goodness I have DD. She usually wears a shirt that is a tiny bit low and we get lots of attention. Not too low as I wouldn't go out with her then.  ;D ;D ;D ;D I usually leave all the discussion to her.

Love it Cookie.
Love our Apple phones, especially as they talk to our watches.  Just bought 2 new bands for myApple Watch.  A bright red one and a purple one.  I might do what Gert does and do mixed colour combinations.  Red one side and purple the other.
I spent all morning shopping at the Essential Ingredient.  Bought stuff we can’t get in Ballarat.  Maple Syrup flakes for pancakes.  Snow , which is Icing Sugar that doesn’t dissolve when sprinkled on cakes. A small Spanish made steel dish which will fit into the AF. Lots of things for DIL and DD.  Bought a 1 k bag of Australian Quinoa. Caramel Chips for Choc Chip Cookie. And more.
Marina, the real Geek in our family is DS.  He has a different/ new phone every year.  Says it is part of his job !  I also think the camera is important.  Can take photos of recipes as I weightfor the Dr etc.  Also photos of interesting food. Took one forCookie yesterday.

I’ve only been to The Essential Ingredient a couple of times but loved it.
Chookie the chef that ran the classes DD and I went to said they f you put maize cornflour on things it won’t dissolve like icing sugar. I do that now and as it is only a sprinkle you don’t notice.

Cookie, I am a bit confused ... do you mean you use maize cornflour for thickening in place of 'regular' cornflour, or as a replacement for icing sugar?

Chookie, it sounds like you are making the most of your stay in Melbourne.  Shop till you drop :) :) :)
