Introduce yourself by....me!
« on: October 21, 2015, 05:08:07 pm »
I just got my new Thermomix a month or so ago and have been making mostly soups and a few sorbets, steamed vegetables and steamed chicken (I did the recipe with the mustard sauce, soup and vegetable tagliatelle). Prior to that, during the demo, I also made Brioche but I have not made it on my own since.

Given that my wife and I love soup and the winter coming, it is great trying different vegetable soups. Soooo much healthier than buying soup!

I found a vichyssoise recipe on this forum and I plan to make it tonight. Not a whole lot different from making a regular soup aside from a few extra ingredients.

I am looking forward to a new world of fun recipes and discovery now that I have my new machine. I imagine I can toss out my blender and food processor now but I have a hard time letting go of them!

Have a great day everyone!

James

Welcome, James, glad to have you join us.

When I first got my TMX I couldn't stop making risottos ... they are so quick in the thermomix but it sounds like you are in the northern hemisphere and soups are just so simple and quick I can easily see how you are getting addicted to making and eating them.

Enjoy your cooking.

Hi James, it's great to have you on board with your early thoughts of the TMX.  Thanks for joining us and please do continue to post and let us know what you think of our recipes.  A lot of things made in the TMX taste better the next day but I'm sure you've already noticed this.

Hello and welcome James,  here in Australia we are coming into summer,  but with a cool day yesterday I made Asparagus sweet corn and chicken soup for our lunch, so easy , I love the fact you don't have to stand by and stir.  Happy cooking.

Welcome to the forum; pre TMX days I would make a pot of soup and it would last all week almost. Now I can make a different flavour every day if I want with no effort at all. Keep cooking and posting.

Welcome to the forum James.  You are heading into good soup eating weather. There are some fab recipes here.  Also have a go at making some concentrated stock.  Bron 's is a good veggie stock and Quirky Jo's a good chicken one.
