Help - I need some great, quick nibbles
« on: May 24, 2013, 11:42:49 am »
Hi everyone, I am off to friends for dinner tomorrow night and I offered to bring something (thinking she would suggest dessert) and she asked me to bring some starters/nibbles.

I was thinking dumplings but I'm not going to have the time to make them tomorrow.  I need some suggestions for a super quick but yummy starter recipe!

Snappy, I love finger food. Can't go past JD's caramelised onion and fetta tarts here Have done these on a huge scale.

My mince pinwheels here

Bellini's .

Hally's cheese and bacon puffs=http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6925.0 here

I could go on and on. Hope this helps.  :D

This is obviously too late for you, but my favourite quick nibbly is parma ham wrapped around strawberries and smoked salmon wrapped around small slices of melon. Since they're both out of season, the next option is simply smoked salmon blinis. Little buckwheat pancakes with a spread of Cream cheese mixed with lemon rind and a curl of smoked salmon, topped with more lemon rind or caviar if you're that way inclined!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

My quiches, like cookie suggested: http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=10413.0
And I posted these chicken nibbles a few weeks ago, I took them to a party for finger food and they were a huge hit. They're delicious: http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=13181.0
