Hi Julia
I was wondering if your reference to "treacle" is black treacle?

Hi Julia
I was wondering if your reference to "treacle" is black treacle?

In Australia there is Golden Syrup, Molasses and Treacle DD - Treacle is black here.

Thank you for clearing that up. Black treacle is such a distinctive taste that it would be wrong to put golden syrup in it's place so I wanted to be sure. I need to go and get the black variety now.
Just looked it up and happily there are 1.2 weight watcher points to each biscuit against 2.5 to the Anzac with macademia nuts.  I am always happy to take the lesser option in an effort to allow myself some treats.

Had my parents over for lunch. Made cobb loaf, delicious vegetable quiche with sour cream pastry, marinated chicken wings (bought), big salad, chocolate pudding with apricots, custard. Its been a big weekend in the kitchen, as DD had some friends over last night for her birthday and I cooked all yesterday afternoon. Made some cupcakes which I will post a picture of tomorrow when I am back on my work computer.

I made sweet & sour pork today. and Polish potato cakes from Page 149 of the English fast & easy cooking. I was disappointed in the potato cakes. The recipe says to shap into round flat cakes. How do you shape what turned out to be a grainy batter paste. I was careful with the weighing and they tasted fairly nice but the texture is rubbery. Perhaps that is how the Polish version is but I think I would rather have the English version which is baked similar to a flattened scone.

I usually cook something for our family and today also visitors to share for Breakfast. In the Thermomix today it was stawberry jam, pancake batter, cappucino, berry milk, hot chocolate. Yogurt tonight for school lunches and breakfast.

very hard not to cook something when there is a birthday, plus I have been suffering cooking withdrawals to some degree. I have a plan for this week where they will have to write down at least one meal they will cook and advise what nights they will be home. I am only going to cook twice, and if nothing is written down there won't be anything on those nights  :-))
