Hi Karen, lucky you seeing the Queen.I know she visited Ground Zero where she laid a wreath in memory of all the lives lost in the Twin Towers and she addressed the United Nations.
If you have a friend coming over from London you might consider taking advantage of this by ordering some books from U.K.Thermomix which your friend could put in his luggage.I recommend The Fast and Easy Indian Book.Janie and John Turner( Directors of U.K.Thermomix) are very friendly and helpful.

Not a silly question Cornish Cream - everything is worth trying. It does click into place.  It actually started acting stiff yesterday during soup making when I was wanting to blitz it at the end.  I managed to get the job done but it has just got stiffer and seized up since. Funny question the girl on the phone at H.O. asked me today though - do you get a beep sound when the lid is engaged?  I've never had a beep sound, only the click sound and told her so.  She did say she has only just finished her training so perhaps a beep or a click is one and the same.
I've never had a beep sound either?  Thank goodness it is still under warrenty. Hope it gets fixed soon.
I have never noticed the bleep before when the lid is engaged but when using the TM this evening my TM does bleep. :o

I've never soaked grains before and I am bowled over by the results.I am afraid I didn't use rapadura, didn't have any, so I used dark muscavado sugar. They were light and delicious.Thumbs up from the everyone in this household Chelsea. :)

Do you think it's critical to use a ring type cake tin?   I'd love to make this but don't have a tin of that sort and don't really want to buy one just for this.

Have a look in the charity shops Katya, it's amazing what you can pick up in there. ;) A pity we don't live closer you could have borrowed my Bundt tin.
