Coconut biscuits with coconut oil instead of butter?

Hi,
Does anyone have a recipe for making wonderful crisp coconut biscuits for my DH, using tasty coconut oil instead of butter?

HI, missg, I would love to have a go, cause  I love coconut biscuits,  also have just been given a tin of coconut oil.  If you have a good recipe just replace butter with the oil.  You might have to set up the mix in the fridge before you form them.   Will have a go when the visitors leave.

I just substitute coconut oil in place of butter quite often and never had any problems with it before.  Any nice recipe should work well with coconut oil instead of butter.
Are you after something specific?  I bet Jo from Quirky Cooking has some beautiful ones!

first thing I did was search quirky Jo's blog, but didn't find any!

Do you think I just substitute the oil for butter weigth-for-weight in an existing recipe?

missgrunge there is a coconut biscuit recipe on this website - it is the very last recipe on that page. It is confusingly written but I'm sure you will work it out and be able to convert it for the TMX.

Oh JD, I think you have such faith in me! You mean where they say 'butter' in the method, they are referring to the coconut oil in the ingredients?!!!  I guess 'wheat flour' is plain flour because they include baking powder - do you think?

Other than that it sounds easy and yummy!  ;)

Yep, I just substitute weight for weight with butter/coconut oil
I guess at the end of the day, they are both just a source of fat for the recipe.....
I buy coconut oil in massive amounts now i.e 5kg at a time - I use it for everything from skin lotions,deoderant to cooking - LOVE it!
I should be living in a south pacific island somewhere   :)
