Hi friends.
It's been lovely weather here.My first Upholstery Class for the new year started today.Great to see the girls again and catch up with their news. Some good news some very very sad news.
One girl is going to be a Granny again.
One of the girls has been diagnosed with early Alzheimer's  :'( She has taken the news well and is looking for an assisted living home.
Another girl's knew someone who was killed in the Italian earthquake. He was only fourteen His Mum and Dad was dug out of the collapsed house where they were staying on holiday. His sister walked away without injury. The Mum needs facial reconstruction. The other family next door who they were on holiday with them also suffered fatalities. Both parents were killed, the two children survived but are now orphans.  :'( :'(

I then went to see DS this afternoon and take him shopping.I'm now home enjoying a well earned cup of tea thinking how lucky I am that my family are all here.

Sometimes it is hard to respond to a post, CC, this is one of those times.  So much sadness in your group, but happiness with impending "granny-hood" too.

Thermilover, glad that you are consulting with a dietician. They take the guess work out of the equation for you. You are doing the right thing and I'm sure you will have a beautiful healthy baby to show for not too far away. All the very best to you & your family.

Denise it never fails to amaze me how one second can change the lives of people for ever. Very sad news for some of your upholstery ladies. I feel for the children who are left without their parents.
I also feel for the poor lady diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  A devastating diagnosis.

Thank you so much Katj for the kind words, I have started testing my sugar levels, think I will be in a better position to make right decisions...

CC, very sorry to hear abt those people's loss, hope the kids find a home soon, it makes me so emotional when I read about such things.. especially kids left after an accident with no parents :( it should be sooo difficult to cope...

Our spring has moved on to winter again. It rained yesterday and is doing so again today. It seems so cold when it rains.

Cookie, it really has been cold here in Perth, I agree. A month of Spring gone already and only 2 or 3 sunny days.
I will never complain about Summer ever again haha.

Hello all, quick catch up, busy with B & B this weekend but living in wrong place as almost all DH's work is in another County so somehow, some time there will be another move. Don't know how long it will take to sell up, could be ages, and all the while the fortnightly cancer treatment to extend his life goes on. He is well at the moment, working and that's how he likes it. xx
