Hi,

I'm looking for just a plain and simple vanilla cupcake recipe. Any ideas?

Diet / Re: anyone doing weight watchers?

Hi all,

I've not been around much but came back to share that I'm now doing weight watchers and sadly the TMX has been neglegted. A plus though, I've lost almost 7 kg! Yay. So I'm here because I'd really love some inspiration and recipes to use the TMX and find some WW friendly recipes!

Recipe Requests / Re: chicken wonton soup-how to?

Thanks for those great tips and links!  ;D

They tasted fantastic! I followed your instructions Tebasile. There are none left, so thats a good sign. We ate them with soy sauce as a starter rather than with the 'soup' because I added too much chilli.  >:(
So I think they'd be great with stir fry veggies as a light meal next time.

Yummo!

I named mine "the terminixer", in line with "terminator". I can turn things into dust, so it seemed appropriate.
Very appropriate! Love that name.

My mother named my Thermomix the 'Thermowiz'  :-)) Because she always asks when eating my food, "Did you make this in the whizzer thing, you know the thermowiz?"
 ;D

I'm making chick pea soup today for tomorrows lunch and trying out a juice I want to serve. I may make a couple of the salads too.  Will also be trying the mayonnaise. :-))

I haven't tried the Mayo yet. I think that's something I'll stuff up. LOL!

Today I made some oat, banana and dried fruit cookies. I'll get some taste testers before I post the recipe. ;) I have tomato pasta sauce with pork and veal meatballs in the slow cooker for the kidlets dinner.
I also made a chicken wonton soup from a weight watchers cookbook. I was supposed to have it for lunch but I'm still making it and it's now 4:30pm!
The wontons are great to freeze too. So that's a time saver bonus. Just fiddly in the beginning, especially when you have to play "cars" with the toddler whilst making them! ;D

I will report back on it's success though. I'm going to cook them in the varoma and the stock in the TMX bowl. Wish me luck!

This was my first attempt at using non TMX recipes. So far so good.

Recipe Requests / chicken wonton soup-how to?
« on: October 07, 2009, 05:44:46 am »
I've got a recipe for a pretty simple chicken wonton soup. I've so far managed to make the wontons using the TMX. Now all I need to do is cook them in the soup.

The recipe says to bring stock to a simmer in a large pot, add wontons and simmer till cooked through. 3-4 minutes. What would be the best way to do this in the TMX?

Using what temp/speed etc? Would it be better to use the steamer basket for the wontons or perhaps the varoma dish? Help!

I did this on chicken breast and it was really tasty. I baked them in the oven.

Great idea!

Thanks for this recipe Trudy. I made these for dinner last night and they were demolished! So delicious.

I didn't have any fresh coriander so used dry instead and I used milk and a handful of coconut instead of the coconut cream. Still tasted great!

Wow that sounds like a very filling dinner! What a great way to share the TMX.

This afternoon I made, well attempted the garlic and herb pull apart. It ended up being a giant roll but it still tastes great. If the kids eat it, well then it's a success. So a success it was. :D

I made the hazelnut chocolate spread which looks really good.

For dinner? I made the Coriander and Coconut chicken (it's in the fridge) to BBQ for dinner with a salad.

I'm really loving my TMX!

My Thermomix arrived today and by 12 I managed to get the toddler into bed for a nap and I sat down to a bowl of piping hot potato and leek soup (EDC) Oh my goddess. So divine and simple. I think I'm in love!
I'm glad someone else loves this soup!! We loved it too and was one of the first things I made with my machine. :)

Well I figured you can't really stuff up a soup and it was an good way to get to know the machine LOL

Okay I'm sure it's pretty obvious but just to make sure I'm doing it all correctly.  :-)) What does "closed lid" mean in a recipe?

I've got some milk cubes freezing as we speak to make strawberry ice cream when DS comes home from school. Oh and I've got some buttermilk left over in the fridge so I'm going to make scones too. I also saw the hazelnut spread. Mmmmm. :D

DP is a former baker/pastry chef so I think he'll be taking over tonight to make some bread and assess the new addition to the family ;)

It looks as though I'll be a regular poster in this thread. JulieO lovely photos as always. I must try those potatoes!
