I've never tasted anything to do with crabapples. In fact I don't even think I have seen them over here.

They look very small Denise, is that what a crab apple is?

Yes, they are small.  Very much like an apple, you can eat them, but by the time you cut out the core there's not much left!  They make a gorgeous red jelly.

I'm pretty much spent today. Have been back "helping" my friend pack.  More for support really. Her DH hopefully will be back on Friday. Don and I will go up on Sunday for final goodbyes in Newcastle.
They are only moving to Brisbane and we will take the camper trailer up early next year and visit. Still feeling sad, we have been through a lot together.

They are small Judy.Unlike Marina's carb apples these are tart :P

It must be good to know you will see your friend next year Michele but still sad that she is leaving.

It's sad when friends move away Michele but keeping in touch with emails etc and visiting for a holiday will keep the friendship going.  When you meet up, you'll just pick up from where you left off like the FF family do.

So you would have to add a lot of sugar to your crab apple jelly then Denise?

Had my finale day with Roz in Newcastle. Her DH flew in from Townsville this evening. It will be hard to say au revoir on Sunday.

I'm sure you will be able to maintain the friendship via email, phone calls and visits Mich. It still leaves a bit of a hole in your life though.

The power is out here this morning. Annoying but not the end if the world.

I am just about to go out and wade through our luxurious weed beds to see if I can find my glasses which I lost somewhere in there yesterday!

I am still trying to wake up after a week with sewing group in Tasmania (all from the Australian Sewing Guild); we had lots of fun and spent a bit of money on fabric. I thought of you all at the Forum Fest at the same time.

Welcome home Troupie. I didn't realise you were going for a whole week, glad you had fun.
