Leftovers with extra veggies. Next door neighbours gave me a box of homegrown veggies. I think there is an informal swap happening in this new neighbourhood. I have been making jam , and giving it to neighbours, and it would seem that I have therefore been included.

I love that sort of supportive neighbourhood, Chookie, it is a wonderful way to get to know each other and offer them treats as well.

Left overs tonight, I might do the vegs as bubble and squeak.  Rhubarb and apple turnover for dessert.

I love bubble and squeak. We often had it for breakfast on cold winter mornings.

We're having a roasted tomato and chick pea pastas dish.

My Mum used to make it for our breakfast sometimes when I was a kid, she always did a cooked brekky because I didn’t like cereal.  DD2’s family loves her fry-up on the morning after Christmas Day, she cooks heaps extra veggies so that she can do this.

Pasta with zucchini sauce bacon and mushrooms. It was ok but all cooked together in TMX . Used egg pasta and I think less cooking time would have been better.

I’ve been making my DD falafels. First lot Zucchini and next lot used a container of beetroot dip that I didn’t Like.
There is a simple formula and they are baked in a very hot oven and not fried.
Basic formula,350 g vegetable, minced in TMX
150 g minced seeds in TMX ( or commercial Falafel mix ) do this first.
                       1 egg
                        Heaped teaspoon Cumin powder
Mix, speed 6 for a few seconds to bring together.
If mixture is too wet add chickpea flour ( Besan) or corn or potato flour.
Line large baking tray with baking paper, oil well.
Using 4 cm spring loaded icecream scoop , put blobs on tray. Press down lightly. Spray with oil.
Bake 12 minutes or until brown. Makes about 16
Can add additional spices, S and P , and use a mixture of veggies.

Steak for the men with home made chips, asparagus & more butter beans.  Sauteed vegetables with broccoli sauce from Cookidoo for me.  I had to adapt this a little bit as I don't have a tmx6 or slicer.  Stewed apples and yogurt for dessert.

We’ve had a chaotic day one way and another so we tried the local fish and chip shop. It was quite good. Enormous serves. We ordered online and parked right out the front to pick it up.
