Judy, I believe peaches are good just now, maybe worth an experiment to buy one?  I find the white ones tastier.  Several years ago I totally pigged out on white nectarines now, much to my dismay, I can't eat them ... same with raw mangoes (with the exception of my mango custard which I love!)

Thanks Marina, I’ll try one then. Last year I bought a box of white peaches from Costco and they were terrible so I rang them and they confirmed my opinion of them. Many had already been given a refund, I was so glad it wasn’t just me. I wouldn’t have worried for just a couple but 12 big ones were pretty costly and they needed to know how bad they were.

Hope you get a nice tasty one this time, Judy.  If Costco were aware that they were selling a bad batch, why didn't they withdraw them for sale or advise that they were 2nds.

They looked perfect at the time Marina, fruit is never ripe when you buy it so it would have taken a week or so before their customers realised they were not edible. I’m sure they removed them as soon as the complaints started coming in.

Thats very disappointing Judy. I love white peaches and always make Chookie's White Peach jam.

We had a chicken casserole last night. Tonight will be mince cannelloni with tomato sauce over it.

Buying fruit and veg are a bit hit and miss these days.  I bought a bag of potatoes last week, 2 were rotten and 2 were full of black marks.

We are having bbq meat patties for the men and vegetable patties for me  with stir fried cabbage, carrot & mushrooms, more beans & broccolini.

Roast chicken with lots of veggies and mushroom sauce. Need to use up the mushrooms. Yesterday we had seafood spaghetti. I made up the recipe.

We had a made-up meal last night. I made a tomato mince dish, made lasagna sheets and rolled the mince in them. Poured a mixture of everything I needed to use up that was tomatoey and sprinkled cheese on top.

Tonight is rolls from the freezer with Tuscan Bean soup from Cookidoo.

Chicken Mayo and lettuce sandwiches. Ral will have a hot meal at the hospital. I will make pumpkin soup from leftover roast pumpkin.
I’m considering another recipe that looks tasty. Asian flavoured cooked meat and veg. Wrapped in damp rice paper, sprayed with oil and crisped up in AF.

Bought some fresh sweet corn. Left it in its husks and microwave it , 2 minutes for each cob. The corn is at its peak right now. Might try RTE corn ribs for dinner tonight.

I saw some nice white peaches in Farmer Joe’s so bought 2 on Thursday. They were very firm so I was surprised but optimistic when they softened within 2 days.  They were perfect Marina, I can’t remember when I last bought stone fruit that were this good so thank you for the heads up.
