Our dear friend Judy , sent via her DD and SIL the fab RTE recipe book. I’ve read every recipe and all the notes. Wow, what a book.
This morning I made her recipe for the ‘ Easy Crusty Artisan Bread’. This is of course one that we have all made many times before. I changes the ingredients and added 100 g of cooked mixed grains which I  minced in the TMX before I added the rest.
I also made Chow Mein using my recipe from my Blog but took inspiration from RTE recipe and added some additional sauce ingredients.

To our lovely Forum family.  Rals cancer has grown in the last 2 months and hasn’t responded to the drugs which they were hoping would slowdown the growth. All treatment and tests have ceased and he has been assessed for Hospice care.  This is a Palliative care program unique to Ballarat. The aim is to keep patients in their own hope for as long as possible. The service is 24 hours and equipment supplied as necessary. All is free and 80% government funded. We are very fortunate to be in Ballarat to be able to use this service and to have so many family and friends looking after us. Ral is amazing and fully aware of all that is going on. He is not in any pain, although they seem to think this will happen.  That is about all for now.

Still cool. Lovely.
DD was training anew lot of paddlers this morning. We had breakfast in the Boat Shed Restaurant next door and watched with interest. Great fun. DS came up from Melb and did a few jobs. Very grateful. Feel like we are starting to catch up.

The pictures are a hard decision Chookie. Friends couldn't decide so they did an entire wall of their living area with pictures and photos. It suited them and their house.
Good idea Cookie. Thought I might do something similar with family photos. The original watercolours are a problem as they can’t be hung where any strong light will fade them.

It has turned quite cold here. Not complaining.
Yesterday collected another lot from storage. More stuff for Vinnies I think. The storage unit is now 3/4 empty.
Joiner coming tomorrow to measure up the shelves for drawers and look at turning a bedroom into a library/ study. I can’t reach the back of the shelves and can’t find ingredients when I want to cook. I want to use the TMX 6 more but don’t want to start experimenting until I can easily find ingredients. My consultant said she will come and get me started again.
Also got the name of a picture hanger. Big decisions to be made as to what to keep and hang and what to discard.

Yesterday made yogurt. Too much again for yogurt container so set leftovers again in oven. Warmed oven to 50 degrees. Poured yogurt into a plastic container. Switched off oven heat but left light on. Placed container on shelf. It set in the same time as that in yogurt machine. 8 hours.

Made the Portuguese loaf again, this time in the large loaf tin. Forgot it was in the oven and didn’t hear the timer. Bottom a bit browner but otherwise ok.

Oh Mab, I feel for you. I pop my shelves in the dishwasher and then scrub them in the sink. The dish washer softens anything that’s stuck to them.
Still unpacking.
Ral has finished the shelves in the garage. Now I can place my appliances where I can see them.
