Aww you guys are the best, you always make me feel good.  :D

Nonomix, we had one as a sandwich for lunch and also had one with our dinner last night.  I have frozen what we didn't eat.  :)

Courton, thankyou.  Did you use chocolate chips as they should still keep their shape.  I had the same problem a couple of years ago when I used chopped up chocolate.  Just a thought.  ;D

CP, what can I say, you are lovely for saying those things, a big thank you.  :D

Ditto what CP said Julie, some publisher should snap you up for their recipe book photography although I doubt you would want to move to the big smoke to pursue a new career.

I did use choc chips and was wondering whether I should leave the chips in the fridge until use?

Thankyou for the compliment Judy, but I think there's quite a bit of difference between what I do and what a professional does.  It's really nice of you to say that though.  :D

Courton, no I keep mine in the pantry not the fridge but if you are going to make them again, it may be worth trying it out?  :)

I made these yesterday to have with soup for dinner. They are delicious. We all loved them.
When I cut them I just did it haphazardly from the dough and got all sorts of shapes. I let them rise for about 15 minutes as cutting them had pushed the edges down. I should have used floss.
I didn't egg wash them.

Cookie,  they look pretty good to me.  Do you turn your tray around 1/2 way through?  When I make random sized rolls,  I put the smallest ones in the center of the tray.

Yes,  I did as they were beginning to catch.

Cookie, they look fantastic! Try without letting them rise the next time as I never do and they are still nicely raised through the water bath and the cooking (that means it could save you 15 minutes  ;))
I love the different shapes and sizes. Next time I have a cocktail style dinner, I'll make them really small to serve as canapés...
