After seeing the heart specialist yesterday, when he said we must also look after our kidneys and liver. I’ve decided to have a warm drink of the juice of 1/2 a fresh lemon in a cup of filtered water before breakfast.

Good for you Chookie, we can choose to follow our doctor’s advice or not but you always seem to do the right thing.

The heart specialist good report is fantastic. What does the lemon juice do please Chookie?

I made some of Chookie’s No Fuss rolls early this morning to take to Dwellingup. I added a tablespoon of EVOO and made them as dinner rolls.

Cookie, the lemon drink is thought to clean out the kidneys. I added a teaspoon of honey and it was very nice. I thought it would do no harm as while living with DD I noticed she did this every morning. She is the fittest 50 year old that I know.

I can now bake as we had a second visit to check on the A/C. They have determined that it was leaking gas.

Cookie, so good that your A/C is now working.

I may try this. I have tried it with cider vinegar but it was far too sour for me. I will try lemon juice. It can’t do any harm.

Cookie, I find the teaspoon of honey takes the edge off the sour taste and not too bad for the diabetes. I also am finding that I can delay breakfast for an hour after the warm lemon drink.

A new bolognaise recipe, mayonnaise for either an egg salad or a potato salad - maybe both depending on if I made enough mayonnaise or not!

I made the Anzacs from Cookidoo yesterday. I decided to add a few currants. They are ok.

Cornflake cookies yesterday.  Today it was zucchini slice for dinner and blanching and freezing beans, they are producing faster than we can eat them.

I’ve made the mango custard that Marina told us about ( tasted a spoonful before putting it in the fridge for later, nice one thanks Marina), cooked some beans and asparagus for tonight’s salad plate, cut up a bunch of bananas for the freezer to add to my morning smoothies and made up a batch of liquid fertiliser for the garden with the skins.
