Judy, you amaze and inspire me with how you keep trying. Although you have issues with taste and texture you still give it a go.
Cookie, that strange mango trifle I make could possibly change into strawberry or raspberry quite successfully.
Mab, sounds like your TMX scales canít be relied on. The success of the Portuguese loaf relies upon 2 things. The first is the proportion of water to flour and secondly the 40 minute hydration. Iíve tried messing about with both of these and the loaf isnít as good. The only trouble Iíve had is with the baking. Iím afraid my Euro oven is rubbish. Small cakes ok but bread burns and after 10 minutes I have to cover loaf with foil.

We are having crumbed chicken and vegetables tonight. We get a respite from the 36į+ on Friday. Then on Saturday it goes back up to 36į.
Oh Cookie,  and I was thinking 29 here today was uncomfortable.
Spag Bol and salad.

Thanks for the kind thoughts for Ral. He is having a full dose of this Chemo with blood tests every 2 weeks. His reaction is similar to when he was having the frequent infusions. Think it might be cumulative. It is a strange lifestyle we are living. Sometimes we eat lunch late afternoon. Then just fruit for dinner. Yesterday, roast chicken, chips and salad for lunch and just trifle for dinner.
Man coming today to check that the installation of blinds is possible.

Oh Cookie I feel for you in the heat. When we had no A/C we went to the local Bistro at the Golf Club and had a very leisurely dinner.
Judy, great that you can enjoy a fresh Peach.
K Atie that is very sad that your DD wasnít allowed to visit her GM. I think the COVID is quite bad in Ballarat at the moment so they are restricting hospital visitors. If the person who was visiting was prepared to leave for a short while, your DD may have been allowed to go in.
Rals not very well after the last Chemo infusion. Thanks to the the tennis he is able to relax in front of the TV.

Mab, your meals always sound great.
Need to microwave another batch of potatoes to go in the fridge.  Going to get warm up here in next few days so will plan ahead so I donít have to cook on the hot days.

Mab, the Portuguese loaf is a very soft mix. Did you measure the ingredients in the machine or with scales? I made another loaf yesterday and it was good. Iíve made 4 loaves now from this recipe and each has turned out slightly different.  Iím still getting used to my new ovens so canít really say yet why there has been a difference.  I know one was nearly a disaster as this was when I realised the the TMX scales were not correct.
This recipe fascinates me .
I made Spag Bol and after cooking it on the stove, popped it in the TMX and made a smooth sauce. Tastes good.
Made Trudyís lemon Muffins and gave half to the little visitors from next door.
Today Iím making another Mango trifle. Sponge roll soaked in booze and topped with Mango Fluff.
Also saw a recipe for Italian Breakfast biscuits. Looks interesting. Might try them today.

Bought some fresh sweet corn. Left it in its husks and microwave it , 2 minutes for each cob. The corn is at its peak right now. Might try RTE corn ribs for dinner tonight.

Cookie, so good having the A/C fixed.
Ral is taking some special pills. He takes 4 a day. They are out of stock at our chemistís warehouse . They are too expensive for the Chemist to keep on the shelf. Finally he got some so we will make a special trip to collect them.
We have lent our Bissell carpet shampooer to friends. Will collect it today.
It is lovely mild weather at the moment.

Chicken Mayo and lettuce sandwiches. Ral will have a hot meal at the hospital. I will make pumpkin soup from leftover roast pumpkin.
Iím considering another recipe that looks tasty. Asian flavoured cooked meat and veg. Wrapped in damp rice paper, sprayed with oil and crisped up in AF.

Hang in there Cookie. Not a nice experience for you.
A/C fixed. Just when it has turned cool. The people who brought the portable A/C want us to keep it as compensation for all the trouble.
Friend called in to see how we are going. Stayed for dinner.
Builder sent maintenance man to see to all the little issues that need fixing.
Ral off to hospital for the day for an infusion. DD taking him to give me a break.
Thatís all so far!!

Roast chicken with lots of veggies and mushroom sauce. Need to use up the mushrooms. Yesterday we had seafood spaghetti. I made up the recipe.

Isn't it wonderful when you get all your washing done, dried, folded and put away all in the same day.
Nothing better.
Cookie, itís a Braemar heater with add on cooling.
The A/C saga continues. Yesterday the people who installed it brought a portable A/C and set it up. They finally know what the problem is. A blockage in the ceiling ducts. Too hot yesterday to get into the ceiling.
Today, RAL blood test, exSIL bring someone to see if we can add a reverse cycle unit upstairs. Hopefully the duct man will return.

Our new neighbours keep sending in fresh fruit and veggies . Yesterday, plums, blueberries and beans. The little 6 year old also brings his book to read to me  :). The 10 year old plays checkers with Ral. I think the parents are glad of a reprieve during school hols. They are delightful children.
