Going out for breakfast with visitors before they return home.
Yesterday while ‘doing’ Ballarat with visitors we realised a shop owner had been a student at the school while we all worked there. She and her husband produce hand made shoes to order. Also leather aprons. She is also a wine maker and gave us a bottle of her wine to try. 4

I got a greasy spot on my Puffer jacket. It took a few hours of attention to remove it. Including going to a sports shop and buying 3 tennis balls to put in the tumble dryer to fluff it up.

Yesterday I made a large pot of Pea and Ham soup. I made it in the slow cooker.
Today I’m teaching a friend how to make SD crumpets in the pie machine. I’ll also make bread sticks and Portuguese Custard tarts as I have visitors coming to stay for a few days, tomorrow. 7

Marina and Cookie, I don’t know either. Like Cookie, I have certain recipes that I only cook in the special tins. The cakes cooked in the Bundt tin are usually very big to get the full effect.
If I wanted to bake a recipe that I like, in a Bundt tin, I would start testing 10 minutes before the normal finish baking time. I write the results and note on the recipe. I also take a photo of the cake in the tin. For bread, I put a slip of paper into the tin with instructions. 9

Cookie, that’s a shame. We noticed that they kept all the wine stalls together at the far end of the exhibition. Also everyone was given a plastic glass to use at water stations.
Today, Tai Chi, Book Club and GC for dinner. 10

The dining room at the Royce was lovely. The food very good. Being a small hotel the service is excellent. 11

Washing and recovering from time in Melbourne. The Little Food Fair was fantastic. GD and I taste tested our way around all the stalls. The hand made butter was the most outstanding for us.

Cookie, would love to see it with the glaze.
I found a packet of Japanese bread mix in the pantry. It looked like it had a lot of rice flour in it. I added bread flour to make it up to 500 g. I mixed in bread machine and baked in oven. Result, a fine crumb loaf. Made a nice salad sandwich. |
