Robyn, I just got my pressure cooker on Saturday. Better get my moneys worth on that one, before I get another cooking appliance.

I have my electic wok for stir fries and cook my chips in the oven. So probably don't need one

Oh well... Do you like your pressure cooker. I love mine..

Only used it once on Saturday night and I love it. The meat was so tender.

I just ordered a cookbook, after swearing I was not going to order any more.

This book on preserving  because a friend came to visit and brought some goodies made from this book.
Pickled celery, pickled fennel, garlic conserva, pickled leeks, lemon pickled baby turnips and Cranberry Aigre-Doux relish.

She also brought some prosciutto sliced so thin I could see through it, and arranged all the pickles and some crouton sticks on a platter - an antipasti platter, along with some cheeses.  It made a lovely meal that was slowly consumed over two or more hours.

It is now almost 1:30 a.m. - she arrived at 6:30 and just left half an hour ago - we watched two old 1930s movies and talked a lot, catching up as we haven't seen each other for four years - she moved to Hawaii and is now back because her significant other died and the friends they had made there sort of shunned her afterward - she thinks because she is now a single woman.  She still has lots of friends here and none of the married couples seem to find her in any way threatening.

Ooh Andi that book looks fabulous.  Please share any recipes you have success with converting. I now have a few preserving jars waiting to be filled!

That's a sad story about your friend - she is so lucky to have friends like you.

The mongrels are taking too many lambs  so we are trying everything!

Apparently Alpaca wool makes the warmest socks!.....can't see me spinning the wool though  
....hopefully they do their job, those fox mongrels are getting a $300 meal each lamb they take

I love Alpacas Maddy 
I have an Alpaca beanie - it's so warm and soft.  I wear it on the cold Adelaide mornings when I'm catching the train to work.

That's interesting Maddy. How do alpacas keep foxes away?

Apparently they sense foxes, make a bit of racket and it scares them away.  if they get too close, they try and stomp them. 
We have to get them conditioned to the dogs though, as they will try and stomp them as well.
have also heard reports that they nurture lambs, and will stand by abandoned ones....so you have a better chance of seeing and getting them in time.

Oh I so hope it works. They are lovely critters.

Makes my blood boil that you are getting so little for your lambs while consumers are paying up the $36. A kilo for chops.
