sprinkle Cheese in the base of the ring, then pressed on top a 1/3 of a mixture of: bacon, ham, salami, capsicum, pineapple, olives, mushroom, chopped onion, herbs. Pess on top Single layers of crustless bread, slightly overlapping, spread with pizza sauce, and packed tightly on top. Add another 1/3 of the mix, layer more bread this time cut in half, then add remaining pizza mix and top with remaining 1/3 and final layer of bread. Compact firmly, then fridge it 1/2 hour.  Take off large lid, turn onto a tray lined with greaseproof paper, Realease inner ring and turn and  bake 200c for 30 mins.

For Christmas my DD gave us a huge gift card for Rydges so we are going to blow it there with a birthday lunch at Salsa which we love. It is the tail end of the Carnivale.

Did you stay in Cairns this weekend?

Hally, have a look at A Moulded Lasagne in the non thermomix recipe section. Andie has linked a site showing step by step instructions. It's done in a pudding bowl but the principle is the same.

I often make lasagne with mountain bread or Lebanese bread instead of  pasta. If using mountain bread then double the layer as it is all to thin these days. Tortilla would work a treat.

Thanks, will try with bread & eggplant.

I looked at Andies link, it wouldnt work as the pudding bowl goes in the oven & the jel mould cant be put in the oven. So i cant have pasta at the top or bottom.

I can see the bread & egg plant working.
Thank you

H, I don't know if I'd bother with the jel ring for lasagna  ???  you would have to cook everything first, let it cool, layer in mould, chill for a little while, then cook.....completely your choice though  ;)
if I were to do it, I would sprinkle cheese on base, add bechamel, slice fresh pasta (similar size to crust less bread) and slightly overlap, layer with cooled meat mix and pasta slices ( the size of 1/2 slice of bread), then your final layer I would use a larger slice of pasta, and push down and tuck in......basically the directions of making the club sandwich ring.

Google other recipes, there's lots around.
I made a Mexican dip yesterday afternoon....the one that comes in the booklet.

That is a costly mistake eh? The service in hotels in Cairns is pathetic. I like the very small Hotel Cairns. They had a great deal of $100 a night . You had to eat in the restaurant which is wonderful so the room was virtually free. We spent an extra $20 . So we had a fantastic dinner for two with 2 bottles of wine and the room for $120. Can't beat that. The pool Is small nice and private and you could also use their electric smart cars.

No longer available but still not a bad place to stay.

Good luck next time.
