Gf, did you get a Breville Ezy Carve Electric Knife BEK5? That's the only knife on Appliances Online at the moment. It didn't get good feedback in Product Review :(

But perhaps you have a more positive experience?

CC we ave the same knife. There is a place in Australia called Dow food and hand forged tools that makes them. We used ours a few times but we are pretty good at cutting bread with a standard bread knife so don't worry about it these days. Not sure if its even still in the cupboard.

I covet one of those knives.  A family friend has had one for years, and I always eye it up.  There's a guy who makes them and sometimes sells them at various markets, but I haven't seen him in a while.  I wish I'd got one last time I saw him, but I was so indecisive - I'm a leftie and DH a rightie, so couldn't decide whether to buy left or get a dual blade one... One day...

Hii BZB - no it didn't get that reviewer's nod of approval  . . but I went ahead anyway. When I first used it it was fine.  I hadn't had it out for a while so your post nudged me to get it out and see how it went.  It died!!!  I've tried to steer clear of things that are made you-know-where - cheap copies and poor workmanship - but I caved in this time.  So, I've edited my previous post as I'd hate to think anyone bought this on my recommendation.  Thanks for the nudge BZB - I'd have been really cheesed off if I'd gone to use it when it was really needed and this happened . . . . >:(

Is there a brand that people can recommend?
