Gf, did you get a Breville Ezy Carve Electric Knife BEK5? That's the only knife on Appliances Online at the moment. It didn't get good feedback in Product Review

CC we ave the same knife. There is a place in Australia called Dow food and hand forged tools that makes them. We used ours a few times but we are pretty good at cutting bread with a standard bread knife so don't worry about it these days. Not sure if its even still in the cupboard.

I covet one of those knives.  A family friend has had one for years, and I always eye it up.  There's a guy who makes them and sometimes sells them at various markets, but I haven't seen him in a while.  I wish I'd got one last time I saw him, but I was so indecisive - I'm a leftie and DH a rightie, so couldn't decide whether to buy left or get a dual blade one... One day...

Yep, I love it!! 

It also makes the perfect cubes of cheese and bacon bread (bun recipe but sqashed flat into a tin and then topped and cooked as per recipe)  - with visitors love, looks really cool!!!

Hii BZB - no it didn't get that reviewer's nod of approval  . . but I went ahead anyway. When I first used it it was fine.  I hadn't had it out for a while so your post nudged me to get it out and see how it went.  It died!!!  I've tried to steer clear of things that are made you-know-where - cheap copies and poor workmanship - but I caved in this time.  So, I've edited my previous post as I'd hate to think anyone bought this on my recommendation.  Thanks for the nudge BZB - I'd have been really cheesed off if I'd gone to use it when it was really needed and this happened . . . .

Is there a brand that people can recommend?
