What are you cooking today?

I made some Cashew Pesto yesterday and today I have made a Classic loaf and then some small sweet buns. I used the basic Classic loaf and added some sugar, choc bits and toasted almond flakes. I just snuck one, they are rather nice.

Nice sweet buns Cookie.  No cooking here today.

The cashew pesto I made. I like it as I made sure there were still reasonable size bits of cashew in it.

I also made some lemon macadamia biscuits as the biscuit tin was empty. https://www.australian-macadamias.org/consumer/our-nut-hub/recipes/macadamia-and-lemon-cookies

We had friends ring and come round. I needed some afternoon tea so I quickly made a Blueberry Cake from recipecommunity. It tasted quite nice except the blueberries all went to the bottom. https://www.recipecommunity.com.au/baking-sweet-recipes/blueberry-lemon-loaf/r6871m2d-a0576-491376-beea0-5p35whj1
I made some ham and cheese rolls for lunch. I used Chookie’s no fuss recipe and Maddy’s method for rising etc.

Big cook up yesterday. Needed to use up veggies in fridge as next delivery today. Made Chow mein. Cheese scones. Pear and cardamom chutney. Light Brioche rolls. Also made Sweet potato crisps.
Carpenter and his wife came to inspect space for warming drawer.  They brought a very large Rainbow trout that they had just caught. I gave them jam, sauce, chutney, SD crumpets, rolls and plant seedlings. Very good swap. !

Cookie, brilliant.
Baked the big Rainbow trout.  Didn’t know how to bake it.  Finally found info on Google.  Bake at 200 until internal temp reaches 145 f. Perfect after 35 minutes. I can’t post photo as Tapatalk has disappeared in new Apple update. Enough for 2 generous meals.

There is nothing like a fresh rainbow trout.

Lovely loaf cookie. I’m so full of envy when you and Chookie post bread photos.
Chookie, Google is wonderful for finding out anything - I spend a lot of time on there. Sounds like you nailed your fish cooking with their help, it’s much quicker than searching through recipe books.

It never ceases to fascinate me how you can type anything in and Google will come up with answers ... not always what you are looking for, but it always has something to tell you!

…..more often than not I get side tracked checking out different things to my original search.

Been playing with my new steam oven. Not as difficult as I expected.  The cabinet maker is coming tomorrow to make some changes.
I cooked a trout ornery with asparagus and mushrooms. Smashed cucumber and whole meal noodles.  Also cooked rice in oven just to practice.
